Blending an interesting combination of size and versatile skill with his inside out game, [player_tooltip player_id='2884536' first='Evan' last='Wells'] provided tremendous value with the unique dimension he brought to Middletown South's offense. Easily the most impressive part of Wells' game was his ability to be a reliable perimeter threat at his size and position— with a quick and compact shooting release, consistently stretching the floor converting on pick and pop looks as well as spot up opportunities. Wells also brought value inside complementing that perimeter skill with his strength and physicality on the interior— finishing through contact around the basket and rebounding on the glass at a relatively high level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2633990' first='Clint' last='Martin'] is a young guard who built up quite a bit of a reputation as one of the more promising prospects in the Shore Conference heading into his freshman season due in large part to the intrigue that surrounds his skillset. Possessing real ball handling ability, Martin played a major role for Rumson-Fair Haven this season— thriving in a position that showcased his reliability as a primary handler while also allowing him to score in a variety of ways. Comfortable under pressure, Martin stays composed and confident with the ball, rarely rushing or losing control of the tempo. Offensively, he proved to be effective without disrupting the flow—attacking driving lanes off the dribble and finishing strong at the rim. Martin also proved he's capable of also stretching the floor as a dependable three point shooter, making him a respectable threat from the perimeter. Defensively, Martin was equally as impactful using his length and quick hands to disrupt passing lanes, creating deflections and forcing turnovers.

Emerging as a critical guard amongst an extremely deep and really experienced group for St. Peter's Prep on their way to an NJSIAA Non-Public A final appearance as a quality depth piece off the bench, [player_tooltip player_id='2884517' first='Dallas' last='Baldwin'] provided reliable guard play throughout the course of his freshman season. A legitimate instant impact point guard who hung his hat on doing whatever the game called for Baldwin excelled at being extremely productive in the minutes he was provided, particularly as a decision maker— combining sharp court vision with quickness to penetrate the paint and effectively distribute the ball, crafty finishing around the rim, highlighting his ability to turn the corner and attack off the dribble and handling defensive pressure well staying composed and avoiding the tendency to play too fast.

A bigger point guard who brings a compelling combination of notable positional size, lengthy arms, and genuine offensive ability, [player_tooltip player_id='3243498' first='Nick' last='Tait'] plays with an emphasis on facilitating and get his teammates the ball in the right spots to score coupled with the scoring versatility to be an overall potent playmaker with the ball in his hands. Over the course of multiple different instances, Tait offered several strong glimpses of his long term potential as a bigger ball handler and decision maker, ultimately impressing with a number of reads he made as a primary ball handler— confidence and comfort initiating offense, hitting live dribble skip passes to shooters and rollers in PnR action as well cutters and diver in different half court sets. All while remaining a threat to score— perimeter spot up shooting, crafty finishing at the rim when driving angles opened up, and using his body effectively to create separation and get to his spots in the mid range area.

What many expected to be somewhat of a down year due in large part to dramatic roster turnover for Colonia, some of their overachievement had a lot to do with younger guys stepping up and that happened to be the case with the interior presence they were able to get from freshman forward [player_tooltip player_id='2970382' first='Desmond' last='Rudanovic']. An impactful combination of positional size and low post skill, Rudanovic provided legitimate value in the paint— battling physicality in the low post with his bruising strength, polished footwork, and soft touch around the basket to be an effective and versatile finisher on the interior. Rudanovic's physical tools also translated to rebounding, where he supplied immense value as a reliable and consistent contributor on both the offensive and defensive glass, winning battles on the boards.

Amongst an intriguing crop of freshman guard prospects who garnered some relative buzz in South Jersey is [player_tooltip player_id='2873649' first='BJ' last='Williams']— a bigger guard that emerged as a valuable contributor for this year's Gloucester Catholic group who reliantly maintained a innate and healthy balance between scoring and creating off the bounce for himself and facilitating and creating for those around him. Aggressive in getting downhill and getting deep in the paint, Williams was adept at attacking driving angles while doing an impressive job of keeping his vision and play with his eyes up to make smart and simple reads with the ball in his hands, ultimately just keeping the defenders honest and reacting off the defense.
