I was a big fan of Bechtel's game on Friday as the lefty forward impacted the game in a variety of ways. For starters, I thought Bechtel did a great job of switching off-ball screening actions, making the opposition really work when they tried running set plays. One play late in the game saw Bechtel intercept a pass from this action and throw down a big two hand jam in transition. Shortly after that Bechtel had an easy layup from the dunker spot as his Midwest Stars team pulled away and got the win to open their weekend off on the right foot.

A fast rising prospect from Indiana, Vise is coming off a state championship and receiving his first two Division I offers in the last month. A skilled big man, Vise was incredible with his left-hand on Friday night, scoring through traffic, showing confidence handling the basketball and making skip passes off a live dribble with his off-hand. The most impressive plays I saw by any player on Friday were a couple of and-1 finishes Vise had through two defenders with patient footwork and the strength to play through the contact. While Vise has a skinny frame, he still wants to be physical and isn't afraid to throw his body around. Expect to hear a lot more about Vise this summer as he's one of the fastest rising players in the Midwest.

One of the best shooters I saw on Friday night, Hook caught fire for D1Indiana with a corner 3-pointer, a wing 3-pointer and another wing 3-pointer that bounced all around the rim before falling in. Having good rotation on your shot is critical for friendly rolls and Hook has that on his jumpers. I also found Hook to be opportunistic in the paint, getting a rebound off a free throw miss by one of his teammates. With his size and perimeter shooting ability, Hook should be targeted by regional small college programs to play at the college level.

One of the best finishers I saw at the rim on Friday night, Long was efficient getting downhill and scoring in the paint. For undersized guards who aren't dunking on rim protectors, it is critical for you to be able to finish off two feet to stay on balance and Long did that exceptionally well on Friday night. Add in the fact that Long is lightning fast from end to end and he thrives in transition and he had a nice game as a secondary scorer for a talented D1Indiana squad.

I was a big fan of Mapp's game on Friday night as the explosive lead guard did whatever he wanted on the offensive end of the court. Mapp has quick burst to the rim and was blowing by his defender at the point of attack early and often to make plays in the paint. When Mapp got defensive rebounds, he immediately looked to provide pressure at the rim on the other end and got into attack mode immediately. Also making some nice skip passes to teammates, Mapp showed a variety of offensive skills. One of the more talented small school prospects from Indiana's 2026 class, Mapp could be a nice small college or JUCO player at the right fit because he has a lot of natural ability.
