[program_tooltip program_id='2478682' first='Kentucky' last='Ambition'] has emerged as one of the top independent travel programs in the state over the past few years. This season it'll take 15U-17U talents to the Made Hoops Circuit (MHC) where its teams will have the chance to compete against some of the nation's best. Here's a few players that are primed for a big travel ball season:

Only a handful of players in KY basketball history will have finished their high school career with a resume as polished as Braxton's. The junior guard averaged 33+ PPG and 9 RPG this past season to eclipse 3,000 points and 750 rebounds. Known for his prolific scoring abilities and for having a sky-high IQ that makes everyone look better, Keathley's vocal leadership is one of the more underrated areas of his game. Having signed on to the MHC's inaugural NIL class and recently being named the MaxPreps KY Player of the Year, Keathley is primed for a big season with Ambition. Expect him to be on a mission in his final year of travel ball.

It was only a matter of time before Brayden's stock began to rise. He brings legit size to the wing spot and loves to get hot from long distance. His length and high release point on his jump shot allows him to get it off with ease over defenders. Brayden put his shooting abilities on display in his breakout role for Butler and was a key impact player in the Bears' post season run that ended in the Elite 8 of the UK Healthcare Boys Basketball Sweet 16. If he works to diversify his game, Brayden will have a chance to be a serious problem for competitors. Playing alongside elite talent with Ambition should get him some deserving looks from college programs.

Gavin, also known as "Goose," is one of Kentucky's more underrated juniors. Similar to Brayden, Gavin will benefit from the attention that Ambition should draw on the MHC and he'll have a chance to turn some heads with his two-way play. Seemingly up to at least 6'3" now, Gavin plays bigger than what he is and is capable of guarding multiple positions on the court. He isn't afraid to make the necessary hustle plays, whether it's securing a 50-50 ball or protecting the rim. His motor combined with his ability to score the ball from anywhere on the court could set Gavin up to be a scholarship-level player in the near future.

Prestyn's name has been known name across the city of Louisville and possibly the state for a few years now. He was dubbed "Playoff P" after his monster performance in the 2024 7th Region tournament semifinals. Now a sophomore, Prestyn continues to be a key impact player for Seneca basketball and should play a big role for Ambition as well. He's a bruiser from wherever he stands on the court – often using his strength to overpower opponents. His IQ, passing, and finishing around the rim are also strong areas of his game. Prestyn could enter the conversation as one KY's top 2028's once he becomes a more reliable threat from long distance.

Jayon has the type of athleticism that doesn't require much skill to be effective. Luckily for Ambition, his skillset has begun to blossom alongside his physical abilities. Jayon's motor doesn't stop and he constantly looks to make the hustle play. He'll do most of his damage on the defensive side of the ball thanks to his incredible instincts and lateral quickness. However, don't be surprised if Jayon emerges as a consistent offensive threat for Ambition's 16U squad powered by the high volume of fast break opportunities he'll be able to create.

Being a member of Kentucky's class of 2028 means that your name might get lost in its depth, which has been the case for Bowen. Yet, he's already developed to be one of the most talented prospects in the state regardless of class. He was one of three double-figure scorers for a relatively young Oldham County squad, contributing 14.6 PPG on 42/36/81 shooting. Despite his smaller stature, Bowen has incredible range from long distance. He also uses an elite combination of speed and deception to get to his spots when needed. Expect Kye and [player_tooltip player_id='2965783' first='Dario' last='Harper'] to be one of the best 16U backcourts on the MHC.

Derez's motor and love for the game stands out every time he touches the court. He's a monster going downhill, using an advanced level of speed and ball handling skills to blow past defenders. He's also very good at finishing through contact despite his size. Derez will most likely be running the show Ambition's 15U squad, which he's more than capable of doing. Coming off of an appearance in the state title game with St. Xavier, expect Derez to bring leadership and poise this travel ball season.

Seneca basketball relied on heavy production from several underclassmen this past season, one of them being Roberts-Smith. His most valuable contribution to the Redhawks was arguably outside shooting – a skill that will come in handy for Ambition's 15U squad. Beyond that he should also have a good opportunity to put his ability to facilitate the offense on display. One thing's for sure; Dwayne is the type of player who always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Expect his advanced court awareness to play a major role during travel ball.
