EYBL Recap: Florida Rebels 17u

One of the country's premier travel programs, the Florida Rebels once again feature a roster loaded with college prospects. We had the opportunity to evaluate them over two games during the first EYBL session in Atlanta, where several players made strong impressions. Here's an updated look at some of their top performers.    One of the nation's top guards in the 2027 class, Daughtry led the Rebels in scoring during EYBL play. He is a highly skilled lead guard who can pass, handle, and shoot at a high level, with deep range on his jumper. He has better than average quickness, does an excellent job changing speeds, and plays with a very high basketball IQ, allowing him to control the game and produce consistently.     The junior wing delivered a big performance on Sunday, scoring 27 points in a win over Arizona Unity. Harris is a big, strong, high scoring wing who can produce at all three levels, with a perimeter shot that continues to improve. He shows a good feel for the game and consistently finishes through contact, making him a tough matchup offensively.     Coming off a successful season at Montverde Academy, Delancy carried that momentum into an impressive weekend in Atlanta. The junior is a strong, quick guard with a scorer's mentality and the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. While he has the tools to develop into a point guard, he currently projects best as a combo guard who can play both backcourt positions. An above average athlete, he competes at a high level and brings toughness on both ends.     The big man delivered a breakout performance with 18 points in a win for Brad Beal Elite. The junior is a mobile, hard playing, athletic forward who scores effectively from 15 feet and in. He has good hands, rebounds at both ends, and brings defensive value with his ability to alter shots around the rim.     The junior big man is active, has good strength and shows improved footwork on the block and a willingness to establish position in the post. Mustapha has soft touch, can knock down an open midrange jumper, and consistently rebounds his area. Defensively, he's capable of altering shots and provides a reliable presence around the rim.     Playing in a different role than he does at St. Thomas Aquinas, Westbrook provides a scoring punch off the bench for the Rebels. He's a sharp shooting guard with a high basketball IQ. A true three level scorer, he combines good quickness with the ability to create and make shots, while also offering value as a secondary ball handler.     Nowells is an attacking, scoring guard who plays with toughness and confidence. He consistently gets into the paint and finishes through contact, even over bigger defenders. With good strength and a reliable perimeter shot, he can score at multiple levels. He also brings energy on the defensive end, where his activity and competitiveness add value.
