Now that the 2028 rankings are out, it's easier to see who really made their move. This group didn't just have solid seasons; they created separation. Whether it was expanded roles, consistent production, or flashes turning into real impact, they gave you a reason to look twice. These are the names that pushed themselves up the board and look like they're just getting started.

Lewis was a steady, high-motor wing who thrived as a complementary piece on a deep playoff team. In that run, he showed flashes offensively where he attacked closeouts, shot from deep to space the floor occasionally, and finished in transition. He has a ton of off-ball movement and gets rebounds as well. He could also step up defensively, and that is where he will make his mark as a player. He is a winning player who does the little things and has room to grow into a much larger role this year. He's a riser.

Barrington is a 6'3 forward who continues to trend upward and made a strong leap as a sophomore with an expanded offensive responsibility. He looked very comfortable this year, especially as a scorer on the block who uses his physicality and footwork. He put up a team-high 11.4 points and 7.1 rebounds a game and improved in each way. finished on the block, and it was a bit different to see the double team come from the low block to try and slow him down. He improved from the mid-range game, and hit the mid-range pull-up. He grabbed rebounds and went up, and is a prospect who deserved to rise in the rankings. We hope to see more of him for the summer as well as during showcase season, and he moves up about 50 spots.

Shreeve was Eagle Valley's Swiss-army-knife this year, putting together quite the season for his team. He was practically the team leader in every category, and that is why he's making a jump in the rankings. Whatever the occasion and the team asked for he made happen. Shreeve put up 8.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4 assists, and also recorded 2.3 steals a game. He was the team's player who they put on the other team's best player; he played much above his size and was one of the better rebounders in the conference as only a sophomore. Can only imagine what's in store during his junior year with all eyes on him.

Walden is a player who got his feet wet as a sophomore but did not get a ton of time. He showed flashes where they would put the ball in his hands and let him operate, and with that freedom is when he's at his best, and that's why he's off to such a big summer so far. He has good size, he's strong, and he makes winning plays. Walden is a microwave scorer who uses his athleticism and size. He can space the floor with a reliable 3-ball but is also not afraid to go back a defender down and score from the mid-range as well. Walden is my pick for one of the conference newcomers to keep an eye on next season, and I believe that he will make a big jump by the end of the summer. He makes a rise in the rankings with plenty of room to grow as he gets more attention on him.

Trujillo is making his ranking debut after a great start to the grassroots season, and what we see is a true point guard who understands spacing, is a vocal leader on the court, and takes care of the ball. That is winning basketball and is reliable. Creek will be a team to watch moving forward as they have balance, and adding Trujillo to the rotation gives them another reliable ball handler with confidence. He can play both on and off-ball. He showed he can score it when needed, but his ability to keep the ball moving and battle on both ends of the floor is why I feel that he will earn some minutes this season. We still have to see much more from him, but he's a player that I feel will turn some heads this summer with his play.
