The 2028 class continues to separate itself, and #PHSpringKickoff was another reminder of just how much talent is coming up. This group didn't just flash, they put it together for the full weekend. These performances turned heads and made it clear that this class is loaded heading into a big summer.

VanderMeer is a player who we got to see this season as he was one of the most important pieces on an entertaining team that went on a run, but what we saw this weekend for [program_tooltip program_id='2100026' first='7070' last='Athletics'] was different. He was one of the top 2028s on the entire weekend in my opinion, and that was encapsulated in their win against a very talented DNA Blue squad, in which he dominated. VanderMeer fills it up and couldn't be contained. He was scoring at will, shooting the 3-ball, and attacking the mismatch. VanderMeer led his team to an undefeated record against some of the top guards in the state and proved that he not only belonged but he's put up a stock rising year and is ready to rise. Big summer is upcoming for him.

I really enjoyed how Proctor played against Prolific as well as against Colorado Magic, as he showed his improvement as a two-way standout. He was locked in defensively, and those were matchups he took personally. Proctor was attacking the defense, finishing around the basket with creative finishes, and his 3-point shot was hitting as well. I like how he attacks relentlessly to soften the defense. He's a guard who reads the floor, runs the offense, and scores with ease. Proctor is coming off of a big second half of the season and has taken that momentum into the summer, where he's playing up, and there's no drop-off for him. His ability to affect the game defensively as he plays with a chip has him of to a solid start to the grassroots season.

Harvey is going to be a name to know moving forward and has a chance to really make some noise out of this 2028 class. He has good size, and this weekend he showed that he could do it all. He's a forward that gave opposing defenses fits for Colorado Magic as he consistently hit the mid-range, was getting to his spots inside, and rising for finishes, and also attacked at the basket. He uses his size, can shoot it up, and can put the ball on the floor for a bit, and that versatility will separate him. He also read the floor and had a few slashes through the lane, where he finished with entertaining dunks. He'll be making our rankings next week. Buy Harvey stock early.

Franck can shoot it and is a confident scorer, and that was on display in a couple of games I saw from him this weekend. He checks off plenty of boxes as he has good size, he's strong, moves well, and he was spacing the floor with his outside shot. He kept knocking them down, and when he gets his feet set, he really knocks them down. Franck understands where to be on the floor to get open and free, and he's a player that defenses have to know where he is, or he will make them pay. What I liked is that despite his 3-ball falling, he didn't settle for only shooting. He mixed it up as he used his size to get a smaller guard on him inside and overpower him and finish over the top. He capped it off by lighting up a really talented DNA team and showed he shows up even in big games. Franck is a talented player.

I did not know much about Henderson heading into the weekend, but he was a player who kept popping when I was watching his games. In their biggest game of the tourney, he was getting to wherever he wanted and out in transition. He handled pressure well, he delivered in big moments when his team needed him to keep it close, and he was a pest defensively. Henderson is a player who could impact the game with his defensive intensity. He's quick, fast, and a tenacious defender who gets his hands on everything, and that sort of play translates. I want to see more of him as I feel that he could pop on the scene this summer, and this was a great start to that.
