Gaines is a guy that just knows how to get it done, whether that is scoring the ball or finding opportunities for his teammates. He's a guy that will eventually find a solid D1 program to call home.

For our money the best "pure" point guard in the class of 2027. Thompson improved his shooting & scoring this season in leading Southridge to the Metro League title. He's at his best when he's breaking down defenses & creating wide open shot opportunities for his teammates.

Vialva split guard duties with 2026 state player of the year Josiah Lake, both of them equally capable of scoring & running a team. We expect the ball to find his hands the majority of next season as the Timberwolves look to repeat. A talented shot maker, Vialva's ability to create shots for his teammates will be key in determining how high a level of college basketball he will play at.

Hudson turned a lot of heads with his play in the state playoffs where Benson pulled off upsets over Southridge & Clackamas to advance to the semifinals with a roster of guys that will be returning in 2026-27. A physical guard who plays much bigger than his height, Hudson's ability to pressure the basketball 84 feet is a complete game changer that disrupts opposing teams offenses.

Cummings stepped out of the shadows of a talented 2025 class that fueled Barlow's first state title in school history to emerge as the leader of a team that exceeded most experts opinions this season. Another physical guard that has shown the ability to knock down shots from deep & lead his team, all levels of college hoops should take the time to see him play this off season.

When you watch Andrews in warm ups, you don't expect him to be the Eagles point guard, his frame is that of an inside player. However, he lead Centennial to unseen heights this season with his basketball iq & ability to get the ball to his talented teammates in places where they could score the ball. Some would say he has an "old man's game", but we think that's what makes him an impact player on a team that expects to be a contender for the 5A state title next season. Simply put, Andrews makes winning plays & coaches always find value in that.

The lightning quick lefty point guard lead Churchill back to the state playoffs this season. Reyes is best in transition and attacking defenses off the dribble.

The rising senior class in Oregon is one of the deepest groups this century, with several point guards being especially high level. We take a look at some of the know commodities plus a couple of others who have a chance to really improve their stock this spring & summer.
