<p>Yesterday we highlighted the MVP's from each State Final game. Today we discuss the Key Contributors from championship games. In this article we look at the Large School games from 3A and 4A. </p>

<p>Johnson delivered a strong supporting performance and gave the Flyers valuable perimeter production. The guard played with confidence offensively, knocking down outside shots and spacing the floor effectively. When defenders closed out hard, Johnson showed the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack gaps. He also contributed defensively with active hands and solid perimeter pressure, helping disrupt Deerfield's rhythm at times. Alex is a dynamic guard who contributed 14 points and 2 steals. </p>

<p>Webster brought toughness and energy to the Flyers lineup. His impact showed up in the small winning plays competing on the glass, defending with intensity, and staying active around the ball. Webster played within the offense and looked to attack when opportunities presented themselves. His effort level and physical play helped East St. Louis maintain its defensive identity throughout the game. Webster finished with 7 points and 3 steals. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1552404' first='Jake' last='Pollack'] 6'10 Deerfield 2026 </strong></p>

<p>Pollack stood out as Deerfield's primary offensive engine. The Princeton commit showed good pace and control with the ball in his hands while balancing scoring and playmaking responsibilities. He attacked the paint aggressively and was able to draw contact to get to the free throw line. Pollack also demonstrated solid court vision, finding teammates when the defense collapsed. He led the team with 15 points and 7 rebounds and 4 assists. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2217962' first='Evan' last='Nagler'] 6'3 Deerfield 2026 </strong></p>

<p>Nagler provided efficient scoring around the basket and gave Deerfield a reliable interior presence. He used his size well to finish plays inside and showed good instincts positioning himself for scoring opportunities. Defensively, Nagler competed as a help defender and contested shots around the rim, helping anchor the Warriors' interior defense. His 13 points was a huge factor for his team keeping things close.</p>

<p>Donahue contributed with physical interior play and strong effort on the glass. Tommy contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds. The power forward battled inside throughout the game and helped provide second chances and interior scoring for Deerfield. His toughness and willingness to compete in the paint were important factors in keeping the Warriors competitive in a physical championship.</p>

<p><strong>4A Key Contributors</strong></p>

<p>Tate Jr. quietly orchestrated much of Marist's offense and proved to be one of the most steady presences on the floor. The guard finished with seven points and four assists, showing strong decision-making and the ability to keep the offense organized in a slow-paced championship setting.Tate did much of his damage attacking the paint and finding teammates when help defense collapsed. His assists reflected his ability to read the floor and deliver timely passes, including transition opportunities that helped Marist extend its lead.</p>

<p>Thomas provided an important spark off the bench and gave Marist valuable scoring in key stretches. He scored six points on 3-of-6 shooting, primarily through aggressive drives and mid-range jumpers. Thomas also showed good instincts moving without the ball, finding openings when the defense collapsed elsewhere. His energy on both ends helped keep Marist's momentum moving forward when the starters rested. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2105376' first='Colin' last='Stack'] 7'0 Benet 2026</strong></p>

<p>Stack was one of Benet's most productive players in the championship game. He scored nine points on an efficient 4-of-5 shooting, showing touch inside and even knocking down a three-pointer. The forward also contributed defensively with two blocks and battled on the boards, finishing with five rebounds. Stack was active contesting shots around the rim and provided some of Benet's best defensive moments. Colin did all he could to try and repeat as a state champion.</p>

<p>MacDermott's night was defined largely by his perimeter shooting. The guard knocked down two three-pointers, finishing with just 6 points He showed confidence pulling the trigger from deep, especially in the third quarter, when Benet briefly cut into the deficit. While the overall shooting numbers were modest, MacDermott remained aggressive offensively and played a large role in spacing the floor.</p>

<p>Stasys delivered one of the strongest rebounding efforts in the game despite a tough shooting night. The forward finished with eight rebounds, including three offensive boards, consistently battling inside against Marist's frontcourt. While he struggled from the field (2-of-9 shooting), Stasys stayed active around the basket and helped Benet generate second-chance opportunities. His size and physicality were important in keeping possessions alive. While he was great on the glass, he only managed to score 4 points. </p>
