I had heard and saw some film on the shooting guard from Deerfield but hadn’t seen him play live yet. Donahue gained a lot of attention from defenses today for good reason. He knows how to come off screens tightly and efficiently without leaving gaps. After catching he’ll pause to see where the defender is and than make proper reads. His mid range game is really smooth off the bounce with a fundamental jumper. I also enjoyed his passing game hitting the dive man a couple of times after using a ball screen and dishing it off after getting a paint touch. He works hard on the defensive end as well to provide value. Will be one of the main players for a well coached Warriors squad.

A reliable projecting wing that comes with ball handling skills as well. Stands out as a catch and shoot guy that doesn’t need much space to let it fly. Comes off screens hard with quickness and confidence to go into shot. Has good feel moving without the ball into open spaces. Plays within flow for intention and purpose. Overall a high IQ wing that will stretch defenses and open the floor up for others.

Donahue knocked down tough shots against Lake Forest that helped Deerfield gradually seize control. He connected on two crafty baseline pull-ups, including a fading jumper at the third-quarter buzzer to give the Warriors a 33–30 lead. He stayed in constant motion along the perimeter, finding space to spot up from deep and drilling two three-pointers on the afternoon.

The 6’4” combo guard blends ball-handling with shot-making ability and projects as a significant factor for Deerfield as postseason play approaches.
