2027 is one of the most stacked and versatile classes we have seen in Texas for quite some time, especially when it comes to guards. This AAU summer, plenty of these hoopers will be looking to gain exposure and offers that could determine their college future. Dallas and Houston are two of the main cities when it comes to high-level exposure platforms and tournament providers. Let's look at some guards from the class of 2027 who I think could have a huge grassroots season ahead of them.

Chris Hunt knows how to drive the basketball into the paint quickly and contribute in multiple ways on offenses. His ballhandling under pressure helps his team in crunch time and his pull up shot off the dribble is one of the best I have seen this season. His motor hustling for loose balls is undeniable, and he consistently gives it 100% effort every time he takes the floor. Running for Max Levels Elite 17u this summer, Deuce will be looked to as a key bucket getter and glue guy.

Miles made quite the headlines this season as he averaged a stat line of 28 points per game and 4 assists per contest for Clear Lake. Entering the final week of his regular season, Damon had a total of 938 points scored on 50% field goal and 38% from three-point land. He gets to the line at a high rate and knocks down shots from the foul stripe, as well as scoring from all three levels and showing he can be relied on in clutch moments. Damon has recently received offers from the likes of UTEP, TCU, LA Tech, and Florida A&M! Running with Miles Select 17u this AAU summer, Damon looks to add more offers to his already top tier list of committable D1 programs.

Cason is a steady and versatile guard who made quite the impact for Second Baptist this year after transferring from Jersey Village. Hall has poise under pressure and makes the right reads at either combo guard slot with the ball in his hands. He can shoot from the perimeter which makes defenders close out on him and then drive hard to the basket and either finish or draw contact and get to the foul line. He is a very disciplined perimeter defender and is almost capable of guarding any position 1 through 5. Cason is playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2078786' first='Cooz' last='Elite'] 17u this grassroots season.

Chris “CJ” Williams has been one of the most impressive guards all year in Houston, constantly putting up double digit scoring games for Stratford. He is a high-level playmaker, and he finds ways to always distribute the ball to everyone on the court. Williams scores from all three levels efficiently and constantly can maneuver past defenders with a variety of dribble moves. Explosive out of the triple threat, CJ has a good feel for the game on both sides of the ball. CJ passed 1,000 points back in January and he will be a huge force on offense for One Time Legends 17u this summer.

Caiden showed me this season why he is one of the top 2029 guards in Houston. He has a strong frame, and this allows him to create his own shots from anywhere on the floor and he makes smart decisions both in transition and a half court setting. He is good at pacing the offense and helps with aggressive perimeter defense on opposing ballhandlers. Running with Rashard Lewis Academy 15u, Caiden looks to make a name for himself and gain the exposure needed to separate him from the rest of the 2029 pack.
