Walters led the way for Collinsville with nine points. The junior was able to get going a little bit in the second half, rebounding well after a tough first two quarters for his club. Edison went into the break, up 21-18. As he always does, Walters was able to affect the game in a number of ways and ultimately got a few shots to fall. His ability to rebound from his guard spot was crucial as the Eagles were limited to one shot time and time again. Walters offensive arsenal was on display in the final minutes as his team was able to erase a three point deficit, thanks to some great passing as well as a timely shot late in the fourth quarter.

The senior used his length to attack the paint on multiple occasions. Scyrkels is a matchup nightmare for opponents thanks to his ability to do a little bit of everything. Dylan can handle the ball well at 6'4", while also being able to post up smaller defenders. He was able to get back to his right hand via both pivot and spin moves to convert against some tough defense from the Eagles. Dylan also hit a big-time 3-pointer in the second half and secured another bucket via an offensive rebound in which he skied above two Edison players. Look for Scyrkels to be a key component if the Cardinals are going to advance past Del City next week.

The junior came up with a clutch basket down the stretch, in which he ran the floor and converted through a foul. Lee also made the extra pass on multiple occasions in the second half that ended in scores for his team. Walters was the beneficiary on one of those opportunities, stepping in for a smooth free throw line extended jump shot. Lee also played strong on the perimeter defensively, as he cut off driving angles and forced ball handlers to rush on the offensive end.

Liggins poured in 10 points to lead all scorers in the game. The senior played with outstanding effort and showed good touch around the rim. His ability to run the floor and finish, allowed the Eagles get out to an early lead. His athleticism allowed him to also make a big impact on the boards, providing a few second chance opportunities for himself and his teammates. Defensively, he helped protect the rim by using his great length and timing when in defensive rotations. Liggins can guard just about any position; moving his feet well enough to cover guards and force tough contested shots.

Taylor was a difference maker on both ends of the floor for the Eagles. His defensive intensity helped to set the tone early in this one. Taylor was able to use his quick feet combined with physicality in his defensive positioning to help keep ball handlers out of the paint. Offensively, he finished with seven points against the Cardinals. After a Scyrkels free throw that gave Collinsville a two point lead, the Eagles threw the ball in and got a solid look just inside the half court line, but the shot from Xavier Williams hit front rim.
