Although still in the early stages of his development, Mallavarapu showed extended stretches of his on court growth— leveraging his glaring length and natural activity on the glass, excelling as a rim protector with well timed anticipation and the discipline to stay vertical and contest shots without fouling. Slightly less further along on the offensive end, Mallavarapu still showed intriguing flashes of what his skillset could later develop into on that side of the floor, as he became fluid in his movements and a stronger inside finisher. As he continues to get stronger and fill out his frame while refining his skillset, Mallavarapu continues to be a prospect that trends upwards.

A versatile combo guard who not only thrives with and without the basketball in his hands but also plays very well within himself, [player_tooltip player_id='2919940' first='Jared' last='Jennings'] emerged as a true bright spot amongst this St. Thomas Aquinas group of guards. As a ball handler sometimes tasked with initiating and orchestrating offense and solid feel for the game, Jennings demonstrated his ability to run various PnR actions with poise against defense and pace off the bounce, reading defenses effectively and creating scoring chances for himself and teammates while also showing an understanding of attacking open driving angles and finishing with craftiness around the basket in traffic despite being undersized. Off the ball, Jennings proved to be equally as impactful— reliably spacing the floor well and finding open three point opportunities as a spot up shooter, and converting on them with efficiency.

Although still in the early stages of his all around development and still getting accustomed to the speed of the American game, [player_tooltip player_id='2909264' first='Joel' last='Patrick'] still possesses the physical tools and intriguing long term potential to become a dominant interior force, much of what made him a key piece to the success this St. Joe's Metuchen group endured on the way to capturing a GMC title and securing a spot in the NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public A sectional final. Further along on the defensive end and far more impactful in that department, Patrick made his presence felt more and more as the season wained, bringing relentless energy and noticeable physicality standing out as a true defensive anchor— walling up against shot attempts without fouling, using his length and timing to protect the rim, winning battles on the boards with a rare combination of strength and a quick jump off the ground, and switch ability to guard out on the perimeter against quicker guards. With plenty of room to grow on the offensive end of the floor, Patrick still showed flashes of his improving touch around the basket and becoming a more efficient interior finisher. As the game continues to slow down for him, Patrick is definitely a prospect that will only get better with time and it'll be interesting to see what his development looks like later down the road.

Stepping into a larger role and increased offensive responsibility in just his sophomore season, [player_tooltip player_id='2683648' first='Jayce' last='Rodriguez'] did not let the weight of that pressure phase him— better yet he embraced the challenge that lied ahead of him on his way to averaging an impressive 20.2 PPG. Already having a reputation as one of the state's most dangerous perimeter shooters, all Rodriguez did was reaffirm that assertion while also showing added layers to his game— featuring an extremely fluid shooting stroke with well refined mechanics and super soft touch, Rodriguez demonstrated his versatility as a dynamic perimeter threat with confidence and efficiency, consistently burying open catch and shoot looks, capitalizing on movement opportunities coming off different types of screens, and even off the bounce when he creates separation and gets his shot off. A part of his game that became more glaring throughout the course of this season was his ability to create— showing flashes of his ability to create his own shot off the bounce, particularly with his ability to get to his spots in the mid range area and knock down difficult contested pull ups.

Going back to his freshman season, there's always been a certain level of intrigue that surrounded the 7-foot [player_tooltip player_id='2405359' first='Toussaint' last='Malukila'], particularly with the glaring physical tools that he possesses, however his sophomore season really seemed to be the first time that his potential and on court production truly matched each other, blossoming into a key factor in Paul VI reaching the NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public A sectional semifinal. Having taken noticeable strides in his development coupled with the game having legitimately slowed down for him, Malukila put up impressive individual numbers that highlighted his improvement as an intimidating two way post player— showing strong intangibles as a roller in various PnR actions, rim running in transition for emphatic above the rim finishes, leveraging his size and strength to seal his defender deep in the paint to turn and finish, protecting the rim with his length and shot blocking prowess, and rebounding the basketball with effort and energy on the glass. All while demonstrating smaller nuances that have the potential to make him far more dangerous beyond his physical tools— softer hands catching passes from guards, softer touch finishing around the basket, improved balance and stronger footwork and better discipline defensively. While he's still working toward putting everything together, the clear jump in his statistical production points to a promising developmental trajectory and makes him a player worth watching closely heading into the summer.

After seeing limited action in spot minutes throughout his freshman year, [player_tooltip player_id='2763627' first='Isaiah' last='Thatcher'] emerged as a legitimate breakout prospect during his sophomore campaign— developing into a confident and versatile high level perimeter shot maker and quickly establishing himself as one of the state's most dangerous outside shooters for a Paul VI group that reached the NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public A sectional semifinal. Backed behind a number of impressive shooting performances that saw him settle into a crazy rhythm on a lot of nights, Thatcher demonstrated not only the confidence he shoots it with but also the efficiency and versatility he shoots it with. An extremely confident shooter with a green light mindset and a quick and compact shooting release, Thatcher consistently excelled as a spot up shooter, stepping into open looks with fluid and balanced footwork and a smooth follow through, thrived as a movement shooter, sprinting to the corner in transition or relocating in passing windows in the half court, all while also knocking down outside shots off the dribble, taking in rhythm dribbles or creating separation off the bounce. Capable of impacting the game beyond his outside shooting, Thatcher also put together strong flashes of getting to the mid range area or finishing at the rim when the opposing defense ran him off the line.

Amongst an extremely deep and really talented rotation of guards, [player_tooltip player_id='2504899' first='Chase' last='Pettiford'] emerged as a complimentary and steady perimeter threat as the season wained, in the midst of this St. Joe's Metuchen group capturing a GMC county title, establishing himself as a dangerous outside shooter more than capable of stretching defenses. Taking advantage of the consistent open looks generated by St. Joe's different offensive actions and dribble penetration from its downhill attacking ball handlers, along with instincts that elevate his impact beyond just making shots, Pettiford thrived as both a spot up shooter off the catch and movement shooter, knocking down open opportunities efficiently, whether sprinting to the corner in transition or finding space by relocating off the ball.
