Two weeks ago the IHSAA State Tournament started with over 400 teams across four classes competing for a coveted trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. We crowned 64 Sectional champions and then, on Saturday, cut the field in half with 32 Regional champions. Now, those teams will compete in the Semi-State round with two games on Saturday, March 21st ultimately dwindling the field down to two teams per class. Let's preview the four games in Class 2A.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers vs. Oak Hill (Muncie Central)

When looking at Class 2A and the northern part of the remaining groups of teams, this one appears to be pretty wide open. The first game taking place at Muncie Central is Bishop Luers vs. Oak Hill. The Golden Eagles of Oak Hill have been playing like a team that has all the makings of cutting down the nets in Indianapolis, which is proven by their 25-1 record and how dominant they have been in the postseason.

Oak Hill is led by the Tonagel brothers — [player_tooltip player_id='2266894' first='Jace' last='Tonagel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2956681' first='Will' last='Tonagel'] — who will enter this game averaging a combined 30 points per game. RJ Shugart will also be a player to watch for Oak Hill with his 11.7 points per game.

On the Bishop Luers side, the Knights are an extremely balanced team that has a lot of speed and athleticism on their roster. The senior duo of [player_tooltip player_id='2892479' first='Ayle' last='Taylor'] (13.7 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2381412' first='Carmani' last='Davis'] (13.4 ppg) have been great for them all season, while junior guard TJ English (10.0 ppg) has served as the X-factor in many ways.

Looking at the postseason so far, Luers may be the more battle-tested team of the two, but it is just hard to see anyone slowing down Oak Hill at this point in the season.

The Prediction: Oak Hill

Westview vs. Lapel (Muncie Central)

The second game at Muncie Central High School is a matchup between two teams that have been at the top of Class 2A nearly all season long. Westview, like Oak Hill, is 25-1 on the year with its only loss coming against Class 4A Northridge in the second game of the season. For the Warriors of Westview, it all starts with potential junior All-Star [player_tooltip player_id='2622228' first='Austin' last='Schlabach'], who will be the best player on the floor in this game. Along with Schlabach, senior shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2391343' first='Kaden' last='Grau'] has been an excellent secondary option for them as well.

The Bulldogs of Lapel have five players averaging double figures, with their leader being junior guard Owen Garber, who averages 16.1 points per game. The supporting cast around Garber includes [player_tooltip player_id='1139937' first='Devin' last='Craig'] (12.9 ppg), Luke Jones (12.1 ppg), Tyler Cash (11.1 ppg), and [player_tooltip player_id='2897669' first='Liam' last='Ko'] (10.0 ppg).

Each team had to earn its way to this point in the Regional, with each beating two really good teams in Blackford and Gary 21st Century. You have to really like the balance that Lapel has on its roster when looking at the matchups, but it is just really hard to go against Westview and the play of [player_tooltip player_id='2622228' first='Austin' last='Schlabach'] as of late. I think Westview escapes a close one and then meets up with Oak Hill in a big-time game on Saturday night.

The Prediction: Westview

Parke Heritage vs. Triton Central (Southport)

Moving down to the southern portion of Class 2A, we have two really good games scheduled, with the first one being between Parke Heritage and Triton Central. Both of these teams are riding 10+ game-winning streaks and have been two of the hottest teams in Class 2A for most of the season.

Starting with Parke Heritage, the Wolves have been viewed as the odds-on favorite to win the whole thing since even before the season by many, and based on where they are now, they could very well be fulfilling that hype. The big three of [player_tooltip player_id='1560965' first='Treigh' last='Schelsky'], [player_tooltip player_id='2272232' first='Isaac' last='Pickel'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2140339' first='Carter' last='Crum'] have been as great as you would imagine for Parke Heritage this postseason, and you could make a strong argument that they are the best remaining trio in the entire state tournament.

Triton Central, on the other hand, will come in led by one of the best senior guards in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='1561110' first='Elias' last='Sego'], who is averaging 22.2 points per game for the Tigers. You can look at their records and the wins they've picked up throughout the season, but the matchup between Sego and Schelsky alone more than sells this game. It should be a true classic showdown between two of the best ball handlers in the state.

The key here will be Pickel and Crum, and whether Triton Central can get help from guys like [player_tooltip player_id='2402389' first='Jackson' last='Faust'] or [player_tooltip player_id='2560344' first='Brody' last='Hartman'] to counter them. This should be a hard-fought game, with the edge going to Parke Heritage.

The Prediction: Park Heritage

Linton-Stockton vs. Austin (Southport)

The last game we'll be looking at is the second game at Southport: Linton-Stockton vs. Austin.

Starting with the Miners of Linton-Stockton, they may have picked up the biggest win of the week during Regional Saturday with their victory over then-undefeated Paoli. Linton will come into this game with one of the best one-two punch combinations in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='1560986' first='Conner' last='Daily'] and Indiana State football signee [player_tooltip player_id='1560992' first='Paul' last='Oliver']. The duo of Daily and Oliver has been such a major advantage for Linton for many years, and with both being seniors, they are playing their best basketball right now—and Linton is benefitting from it.

Austin, on the other hand, has had one of the more impressive runs of any Southern Indiana team, being led by the duo of freshamn Micah Moehler and rising sophomore standout [player_tooltip player_id='2538909' first='Tracen' last='Roush']. Austin was able to beat two really good teams in Southwestern (Hanover) and Forest Park to get here, so they have already gone through some tough competition to reach this point. However, playing Linton right now is a whole different challenge to conquer.

To me, this should be one that Linton wins due to the experience and talent leading the way.

The Prediction: Linton-Stockton
