Non-Public Semifinal Superstars

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The state sectional tournaments are winding down as each tournament is in the sectional final. Non-Public A and B had their sectional semifinals on Thursday with prospects putting up big performances to help their teams advance. Here are the standouts from the Non-Public semifinals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2534483' first='Dillon' last='Adomanis'], 6'7 PF Bishop Eustace 2027</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Adomanis was a force for the Crusaders in their road victory over Rutgers Prep as he put up a career-high 39 points. The 6'7 forward used his strong frame to get position down low and drew contact in the paint all game. Adomanis put his face-up game on display as he knocked down three triples and used his handle to get to the rim. He influenced shots around the rim and worked for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Adomanis has been dominant throughout the Non-Public B South tournament averaging 30.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, which he is looking to duplicate in the sectional final against Holy Cross Prep.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2202019' first='Alex' last='Mazzella'], 5'10 PG Bergen Catholic 2027</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mazzella outscored Paramus Catholic in the Crusaders' win against Paramus Catholic as he put up a career-high 30 points in the 82-28 victory. The 5'10 guard shot the ball with confidence from behind the arc as he buried six triples and wasted little motion in his release. Mazzella did more than just shoot as he also got into the lane off the bounce and found his open teammates in the half court. He showed the ability to play off the ball and got deflections on the defensive end. Mazzella has been running the offense efficiently all season long, which should continue in the sectional final.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3040469' first='Nick' last='Ferdinand'], 6'7 PF St. Peter's Prep 2026</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ferdinand controlled the paint for the Marauders as he had 20 points and 11 rebounds in their win over CBA. The 6'7 forward drilled three triples as he showed a good release and stroke on his jumper. Ferdinand also put the ball on the floor and was able to get position down low. He ripped down rebounds on both ends of the floor and influenced shots around the rim. Ferdinand had his second 20-10 game in the semis and will be looking to repeat the feat on Monday against St. Joseph's Metuchen.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2917025' first='Prosper' last='Highlander'], 6'6 SG/SF Gill St. Bernard's 2026</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Highlander had a solid game for the Knights as he put up a team-high 19 points. The 6'6 wing attacked the basket with a purpose as he finished strong around the rim and was unafraid of drawing contact. Highlander showed a high release on his jumper and moved well without the ball in his hands. He swatted shots in the paint and influenced others around the rim. Highlander has been a productive wing throughout the course of the season and will continue in the sectional final.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2932320' first='Caleb' last='Jones'], 6'6 SF/PF Roselle Catholic 2026</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jones was a big part of the Lions' success in the semifinals as he put up 18 points and nine rebounds. The 6'6 forward was able to get to the rim off the bounce and drew contact in the paint. Jones got position down low and rarely forced jumpers in the half court. He skied for rebounds and used his length to make an impact on the defensive end. Jones has had some big performances for the Lions this season and will need another one like that in the final against Gill St. Bernard's.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
