[player_tooltip player_id='2527108' first='Jaxson' last='Austin'] of Albany (jr). When Jaxson is having an outstanding 17u year in April through July I want you to remember what he's been doing this March. Austin had some big sectional games and then he scored 18 points on only eight field goal attempts and five foul shooting attempts including two back breaking threes. He has good size as a junior guard and his defense was a constant disruption. Austin totalled six steals against JCC.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560739' first='Max' last='Iversen'] of Maple Grove (sr). What you love about Maple Grove is some nights Babou is the go to hot hand, sometimes Thelen is dominant in the post, and sometimes the role players just need to be fed (that December win over De was crazy), and some nights one of the best shooters in the Midwest goes off. With range. Past Anthony Edwards range. And that was [player_tooltip player_id='1560739' first='Max' last='Iversen'] today in the win over Alexandria. Iversen made 6 of 10 threes and a crazy 15 of 23 shots to score a career high 41 points. That is a special shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2561052' first='Chase' last='Maetzold'] of Chaksa (soph). The Chaska 23 game win streak has been a team effort with different guys stepping forward. Today against Lakeville South it was Maetzold that led the way. His five three pointers made on his way to a 19 point game was crucial (7 of 11 shooting overall, 5 of 9 at the arc) as the Maetzold perimeter touch at 6'6 is going to open a lot of doors for him. But the ten rebounds was just as important including nine of them on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2271330' first='Trey' last='Parker'] of Apple Valley (sr). The Eagles beating Wayzata was a total team effort but some of the biggest plays made in the game were from [player_tooltip player_id='2271330' first='Trey' last='Parker']. After Apple Valley got down early he made three first half threes to help them comeback. Then, when the Eagles needed some second half momentum, Parker scored threes at crucial times to get to 17 points. He was 5 of 9 shooting for the game with five boards and four assists but his game winning block at the buzzer of the Wiggins shot will go down in Apple Valley legend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2119645' first='Tyrel' last='Pride'] of Tartan (sr). Pride continues to be the ex-factor filling in for Tartan with whatever is needed for his team to win. He scored 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting with four threes made plus he chased down seven rebounds. Pride's team defense was crucial to Tartan holding Blaine to 29 percent shooting. He can play both guard spots and do just about anything asked defensively when it comes to a guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2118495' first='Talan' last='Witt'] of Alexandria (sr). Talan looked outstanding for the early part of the game making his first six shots including four threes. Witt is headed to SMSU and you got a glimpse of why they like him, he's a good athlete going to the rim and he can hit from the outside. The touches for Talan went down in half two as Maple Grove did a good job there and Alex couldn't find a way to get him good second half touches, but Talan scored 24 points on 8 of 10 shooting making four of five threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560866' first='Camare'' last='Young'] of Apple Valley (sr). Picking out certain Eagles is tough because they all contributed to the huge win over Wayzata but Young was so valuable. I thought his give no ground defense was crucial, his 11 rebounds was a team high including eight possession ending defensive boards plus Young scored 14 points. Young also brought the ball up the floor most of the time which was such an advantage not just because he has the skill to do it, but also because he has to be defended by size. That meant Wayzata ball pressuring guards were not a factor in that defensive way.
