24 Players To Watch: TC Takedown

#PHTwinCitiesTakedown   The <a href="https://x.com/PHCircuit">Prep Hoops Circuit</a> is in full swing, and the spotlight shifts to the Twin Cities Takedown, taking place April 24–26 in the Minneapolis suburbs.   With talent pouring in from multiple states and across a variety of age groups, this event is loaded with players who bring unique skill sets, athleticism, and upside. <a href="https://x.com/DaksHoops">@DaksHoops</a> will be on hand to take it all in—tracking matchups, evaluating performances, and identifying the names that continue to stand out.   In this preview, we highlight 24 Players To Watch: TC Takedown—a group of prospects who bring a mix of potential, production, and buzz. Whether they're established contributors or emerging names starting to gain traction, these players are worth a closer look. He scores inside but can also hit the three. Fuller is a bit raw but will provide an interior presence. AJ will board, protect the paint, and make a difference with his great help-side defense. PHD is excited to see him hoop on Friday.     He runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] Lemke 16U and is up to 6'4". As a wing/forward, Seeyon is an athletic finisher. He is known as an elite defender. Allen locks-up with the opposing team's top player. Seeyon is a 2-way player to watch this weekend.     This kid will never lull you to sleep. Beckam is a knockdown shooter! He gets hot and rolling in a millisecond. Lull is also a crafty finisher with length. He needs to be on the court at all times; he makes others better and is a winner.     Gaustad is a unique frontcourt prospect who brings guard-like skill to a 6'8” frame. Functioning as a true point forward, he has the ability to stretch the defense with a reliable outside shot while also facilitating offense with his high-level court vision and IQ. His passing stands out for a player his size, making him a connector who elevates teammates. Inside, Gaustad shows polished footwork and a soft touch, allowing him to score efficiently—evident in his 71% shooting from two. Defensively, he anchors the paint as a strong rim protector, using his timing and length to impact shots and alter drives. Through his first tournament, he's averaging 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game while shooting 35% from three, showcasing his all-around production. His blend of size, skill, and versatility is rare. A big who can shoot, pass, protect the rim, and play with high IQ—Gaustad has the tools to be a matchup problem and a rising name as more attention comes his way.     Mr. Johnson is a floor general. Chase is a tough all-around player who gets hot from the 3pt arc. He hoops with a high bball IQ. Johnson also creates shots for himself and others. He is a playmaker to watch.     [player_tooltip player_id='2140590' first='Cody' last='Benson'] is an underrated guard who impacts the game in multiple ways. At 6'4”, he brings great size, strength, and a high motor that shows up every possession—especially on the glass, where he averages 5.5 rebounds per game. He's an efficient scorer, shooting around 40% from three while finishing an impressive 80% from two this summer. That combination makes him a tough cover, as he can stretch the floor and score inside. Defensively, his size and effort allow him to guard multiple positions. Through his first tournament, Benson averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, proving he can produce while playing a complete game. Efficient scoring, strong rebounding for a guard, defensive versatility, and a nonstop motor.     [player_tooltip player_id='3596274' first='Cooper' last='Coatta'] is a name to keep an eye on. Now up to 6'2”, he brings a strong, physical presence to the guard spot and plays with an explosive edge. He's an elite tough shot-maker who thrives in traffic, consistently creating positive plays when attacking the rim. Whether he's slashing, finishing through contact, or making something out of nothing, Coatta's ability to impact the game makes him a must-watch.     Drayden is a name to watch. While this will be our first time seeing him live, the early reports point to a sharp-shooting scoring guard with real offensive firepower. Cokens can heat up quickly from beyond the arc, showing extended range and confidence as a perimeter shooter. He's not just a spot-up threat either—he puts pressure on defenses by attacking off the bounce, getting downhill, and finishing at the rim. His ability to mix in crafty moves when driving makes him tough to contain once he gets going. A guard who can stretch the floor, create his own shot, and score at all three levels is always dangerous. With his shooting range and ability to break defenders down, Cokens has the tools to be a breakout performer—and someone worth keeping a close eye on when he hits the floor.     Finn is a versatile CG with exceptional dribbling and perimeter shooting skills. He is a leader in the early offense scheme. He impresses by taking the ball end-to-end for quick scoring opportunities. Lillehoff will be a Stock Riser in the next Rankings update.     There is a lot to like about Stroschien's game. He is an athletic wing with a smooth shooting stroke. He handles the ball well and is an aggressive rebounder. Finn is a winner and a playmaker. Take a look at Finn and [program_tooltip program_id='2078859' first='Starks' last='Elite'] this weekend.     He's a young prospect playing up an age group, and his length immediately stands out. Gus has shown he can knock down shots from deep and has a smooth, reliable mid-range game. He plays with a strong feel, consistently making the right reads and natural winning plays. Mack also brings great energy—he's a hard worker and true hustler who impacts the game beyond the box score. I'm looking forward to seeing him live on Friday; it's been since the fall, and he's a player worth checking in on.     He is sure to catch your eye with his quickness and athleticism. Farrell is a phenomenal on-ball defender. He does great work defending the full 84-feet. Isaiah has excellent handles and rarely turns it over. He consistently makes positive plays going to the rim. Farrell finishes well with both hands and is a more-than-capable 3-point shooter. Through two tournaments, Isaiah has looked like an elite player.     He is a long player who will play great defense for Immeasurable. They will rely on Jack to carry some of the scoring load. He is a very good passer and a smart player. Stevick improved nicely at the end of his sophomore season at Minot and is a player to watch moving forward.     Running with [program_tooltip program_id='2896132' first='Start' last='Strong Hoops'] 15U, Puchalla has built a reputation as a true two-way point guard. He can score at all three levels while also doing an excellent job of creating opportunities for his teammates. On the defensive end, Jakhai embraces the challenge of guarding the opposing team's top perimeter player. His leadership, toughness, and unselfish approach make him a highly underrated impact player.     I have watched him in the past and I like Oman's game. I am interested to see how his game has evolved since last summer. Jaxon is a natural leader on the court. He embodies DGF Rebel toughness. Oman is a scrappy and frustrating on-ball defender. He is also a proven 3-level scorer when needed.     He is an old-school point guard who controls the tempo. Taylor is playing up in 17U. It will be fun to see him go against older guards. He plays poised. has a high IQ, and is a talented passer. Look for Taylor scoring to improve this spring/summer. He will put up points from all levels. He is also a solid defender. Taylor is growing like a bad weed. He certainly has potential. PHD is looking forward to watching tonight.     KHB has recently climbed to the #3 spot in the North Dakota 2028 rankings, and it's easy to see why. He passes the eye test with ease, combining length, athleticism, and natural feel for the game. An unselfish player with the ball, he still has the ability to take over and make impactful plays in a variety of ways. Keller stands out with his explosiveness, finishing above the rim with power while also showing a soft, controlled shooting touch. On the defensive end, his tools and upside are just as intriguing, giving him the potential to become a next-level two-way player. He's an emerging prospect in the Midwest who is quickly gaining traction—and one that scouts should make a priority to watch moving forward.     Austin and Terry likely form the top backcourt duo in Pool A. Khaliq is coming off an outstanding high school season and has carried that momentum into the first two tournaments this spring. He's a big, strong, do-it-all guard with a complete skill set and the ability to make plays in a variety of ways. Austin already holds a Division I offer, and it's easy to see why—his game and long-term potential stand out immediately. With his blend of size, skill, and production, he's a player coaches are paying close attention to. Austin is a must-watch at the TC Takedown.     He hoops with [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] Lemke 16U and is the top player on the squad. Look out for Wismer's three-level scoring; he will put up plenty of points. Layton is a high IQ cerebral baller. Wismer is a long playmaker on the wing.     This is a dynamic three-level scorer who makes excellent use of his length. His size and instincts allow him to impact the game in multiple ways, especially on both ends of the floor. With Zimmerman's combination of length, scoring ability, and defensive presence, he's definitely a player to watch at the Twin Cities Takedown.     This Spud is a ridiculous athlete. He moves like a next-level baller. The best part of his game is his slashing and attacking of the hoop. Romeo also spaces the floor and hits jump shots. Kromah can also be a fierce on-ball defender. Get eyes on this kid from WCU.     Kirby runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2896132' first='Start' last='Strong Hoops'] 15U. He is a beast and it will not be long until the PH Circuit knows all about him. Sullivan thrives at getting downhill with simple yet effective moves/countermoves. He gets hot from 3-point land, is a great rebounder, and is a willing passer. He might only be a 6'3" post but has the versatility to defend 1-5.     Trason, alongside Austin, forms one of the elite backcourt duos in the 16U division. Coming off a breakout high school season with the Saints, Terry has carried that momentum into the club season and looks poised to make even more noise as the spring progresses. Known as “Scary Terry,” he is a long-range sniper with a lightning-quick release and deep shooting range that immediately stretches defenses. He puts up points in bunches and takes over stretches of the game. Beyond his shooting, Terry is effective in transition and composed in the halfcourt, consistently making smart reads and executing within the flow of the offense. As a left-handed guard with size and skill, he brings a unique matchup problem and clear upside as a developing prospect. Elite shooting range, scoring bursts, and steady all-around guard play make Terry a dangerous offensive weapon. Expect him to be a standout at the TC Takedown and a name that continues to rise this season.     PHD is excited to watch this Tiger live tonight. We have only seen him on film. This winter, Trueth looked like a creative and crafty finisher. He handles and passes the ball well. He is sneaky quick off the bounce and can shoot it.
