[player_tooltip player_id='1560797' first='Jaxon' last='Boschee'] - The six-foot-two-inch 2026 scoring guard from Bemidji battled Wednesday night versus Elk River. The Elks defensive approach focused very intently on Boschee and his long range shooting. Boschee showed ability with the ball, and needed little movement to get his shot off. In tight coverage he was able to get clean space and get shots off. Without the ball Boschee moved often and re-position well to get himself spot-up looks. The extra attention Boschee demands enabled his Bemidji team to have good cutting actions for looks at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560767' first='Ty' last='Nyberg'] - The 2026 Duluth East guard was nearly all of the Greyhounds offense in the game I saw him play. Nyberg handled the major ball handling of the team as the lead guard and lead scorer. Nyberg showed good range on his shot from the perimeter, and quick decision making as a passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='3200333' first='Kieran' last='Wymore'] - Wymore is a five-foot-seven-inch 2026 guard from Coon Rapids who put together a complete game against Elk River. Don't get too locked on Wymore's height, he's a relentless guard who can really shoot it from the perimeter. While his size presents problems finishing over size Wymore did show off a floater and ability to find windows for close range shots. Wymore did not seem to ever get tired, he played well with the ball and without. I probably was most impressed with the way he moved without the ball and distancing himself and losing his defender to give himself open looks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560770' first='Chase' last='Sheldon'] - Sheldon a 2026 guard from Elk River struggled Monday versus Duluth East and passed up open shots. Wednesday and Thursday Sheldon looked more confident, didn't pass up his shots and was aggressive going to the basket. Sheldon has shown an improvement at the rim with an array of lay-up finishes that have really helped him with consistency.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560879' first='Jackson' last='Boll'] - The six-foot-four-inch 2026 senior forward brings so much energy, grit and hard work to the floor of the Elks. Boll is a constant worker on the glass and he uses strength to keep opponents off the glass. Boll is a fine passer for a forward and he can shoot from the perimeter although he's not much of a scorer outside of 5 feet from the basket.

2027

[player_tooltip player_id='2447459' first='David' last='Balisidya'] - Balisidya is a six-foot guard that is a defensive back for Elk River and got the primary defensive assignment in all three of Elk River's games this week. Against Duluth East he got Nyberg, Bemidji it was Boschee and Coon Rapids it was Wymore. Balisidya showed good ability to guard different types of primary ball handlers up close. Balisidya came up big against Bemidji scoring when he had 19 points, and made multiple 3-pointers.

2028

[player_tooltip player_id='2842087' first='Thomas' last='Schoenert'] - Schoenert is a six-foot-two-inch 2028 sophomore guard playing JV for Elk River that has shown a literal leap in athleticism and strength finishing above the rim in games. Schoenert looks like he'll fit as a secondary ball handler and he spreads the floor well enough as a shooter on the perimeter. Schoenert should get a good opportunity as a junior to show what he can do at the Varsity level after Elk River graduates a good number of seniors.

2029

[player_tooltip player_id='2836765' first='Caden' last='Boschee'] - Boschee is a 2029 guard from Bemidji that plays JV for the Jacks. Like Jaxon, Caden showed he didn't need much time to get his shot off from the perimeter. One corner triple Caden looked pretty well defended and guarded and he swished the 3-pointer very smoothly. The freshman has some maturing and growing to do but he looks like he'll be a contributor next season for Bemidji.

Jax Lockwood - The freshman guard for the Elks started the year playing B-Squad and in a game versus Andover he scored around 30 points he made his way up to JV. In the last couple years Lockwood has grown a couple inches, and added strength to his body. He has a quick dribble, attacks downhill of his dribble, and can shoot from the perimeter.

2030

[player_tooltip player_id='2964575' first='Jacob' last='Sykes'] - Sykes is a 2030 8th grade guard from Duluth East that has cracked into their rotation on Varsity. Sykes played a half of JV versus Elk River and looked very capable of handling himself off the dribble, getting to the rim and shooting from the perimeter. Sykes displayed the ability to pass and run the point guard spot on JV and on Varsity worked seamlessly with the upperclassmen as a guard off the ball.
