The junior colleges in Minnesota are not full scholarship junior colleges (they aren't D1) but they are full opportunity junior colleges for players to make an instant impact (these are two year schools).

Last year Wylee Dauenbaugh was the MVP of the northern part of the league and now the former Grand Rapids (MN) talent is playing for Minnesota State Mankato. And the MVP of the southern part, Tyrese Mayo who is from Florida, he now plays for the University of Mary.

Going to the local Minnesota junior colleges is a chance to play and earn future opportunity at the scholarship level. So, who should these schools look to from the local 2027 class? Here are some names!

Branch scored 21 points a game last season as a junior for SSP and now he is headed to Tartan and will play for one of the best teams in the state. Branch can shoot it and fill things up quickly, but he can do things off the dribble and we saw him handle the one with Powerhouse too. Branch has a lot of potential and I think that potential will take a step this winter and could really take a step at the juco level for a year or two, and then have three or four years to play at a four year (now five year) school.

When we list the Class AA All State Team for 26-27 next April, don't be surprised if Tim is on that list. The 6'5/6'6 strong forward with agility and strength scored 16 points a game last year and I think with the frontcourt open for him to work regularly at Hiawatha, he is going to have a big year scoring the ball at the rim. And when it comes the future, Tim has the potential for growth at the college level.

The 6'7 forward is a stretch four man with some length. He has no problem getting his looks when he has a chance and Connor did scored a dozen points a game last season. But Connor did that for a seven win team and then while I thought he played well with the Titans this 17u year, he was sharing a frontcourt with a future D1 big in Gaustad. I think Connor has a chance to have a great senior year and as a stretch four he could help a college program. And maybe going to a juco helps him show what he can do before making the big jump.

We've spoken a lot about Hoth recently but I think it's worth a mention here too. He can shoot it, he can get up the floor, and Goay can find ways to finish on the move. Hoth is likely to have a good senior year and then when you look at what guys have been doing at Central Lakes and ARCC, and other places, and when you consider what a player like Hoth could do there and then jump to the next level, that is what a junior college can do for a player like a Hoth or others.

Severin is from Austin and Riverland CC is in Austin. Riverland is a place that has been recruiting better talent in recent years and in the 90s we saw a ton of Austin high school products play well there and then go D2 or D3. Could Severin be next (doesn't have to be Riverland of course, just using that as an example, could be many places)?

Severin is an excellent shooter with a quick release and when you consider all the ways that Xzayveun can get a shot of, you have to believe that he is going to find a place to score for teams. Could be juco, could be D3, wherever, Severin is a shooter that will help a college team.

The junior colleges in Minnesota are not full scholarship junior colleges (they aren't D1) but they are full opportunity junior colleges for players to make an instant impact (these are two year schools).
