The finality of playing in your last high school basketball tournament is a bittersweet feeling for senior prospects because if you lose, it's your last chance to add to your legacy. Sunday's Quarterfinals slate at the BCL tournament had a ton of high performers in a lively atmosphere at Loyola University (MD). Let's tap in with a few players that have played their last game, while others will compete in tonight's semifinals.

-Probably the most well-rounded performance that I've seen from Simley all year in a duel with Calvert Hall. Simley started things off with a smooth baseline pull-up, raced back in transition to pin a blocked shot on the backboard, then caught it in traffic and hit his opponent with a spin move and 2-handed dunk off the gather. His movement off the ball to serve as a connector or finisher in the halfcourt really opened up perimeter shooting opportunities for teammates as the help defense often crashed on him in the paint. His willingness to bang in the paint for rebounds contrasted nicely with the skill to turn in a near-perfect performance from the FT line to seal the win. The senior wing is hearing from several D1 and D2 programs, will be interesting to see how his recruitment plays out.

-Probably the most efficient and balanced offensive performance that I've seen from the Army commit as he got off to a hot start and never turned back. Moultrie got things going with a face cut from the top of the key to collect a pass and hit the layup, attacked a long closeout from the corner to take 1 dribble in and hit the pull-up, finished through contact at the rim, kicked it ahead to his bigs in transition, and knocked down 4 of his 7 attempts from beyond the arc to maintain a comfortable Spalding lead for the majority of the game. His team will face the #1 seed in St Frances tonight.

-Thought that Lee performed well despite the playoff loss, showing the work that he's put into his jumper as he knocked down shots from all 3 levels and knocked down 8/10 from the charity stripe. He drove middle from the wing to knock down a nice pull-up in the paint, hit the offensive glass to score on putbacks or kick out to teammates, and was active defensively despite having to match up with Spalding's 3-man rotation of 6'7+ wings. Now that the season is done he'll have his pick from a nice collection of small colleges to continue playing basketball at the next level.

-Olofintila showed some improved ball skills throughout a hard-fought loss to the 1 seed yesterday. He knocked down a trio of triples from beyond the arc, landed on two to hit a floater off the window, and used his pivot well to maneuver through the double team to score off of his offensive rebound. He has a nice blend of size, athleticism, and motor that should give him a nice boost up our final set of 2026 rankings coming later this month.

-Last night was probably the first standout performance that I've seen from Busse that didn't involve a bunch of perimeter jumpers. The ETSU commit was getting to the rim, sticking putbacks, and took advantage of his reputation as a perimeter sniper to attack hard closeouts from the wings to get into the teeth of the defense. His best stretch of play came in the 1H when he plucked his matchup at halfcourt before hitting the transition lay up, knocked down a 3 off the bounce at the end of the shot clock, and hit a hot step floater off glass in the middle of the paint. His perimeter shooting usually opens up driving lanes for his teammates, will be interesting to see the gameplan versus a swarming Panthers defense in tonight's game.

-Clevenger was a huge part of Loyola jumping out to an early lead that they held for the first 16 minutes of play. He knocked down a corner 3, hit several pick n pop midrange jumpers, and used pump fakes to duck under hard closeouts to continue hitting shots in the halfcourt. Love that he wasn't afraid to mix it up in the paint for rebounds as he closed out several defensive possessions with rebounds to preserve the early lead.
