[player_tooltip player_id='1783189' first='Isaiah' last='Wilks'] has a really high chance of being the Gatorade Player of the Year. He has been dominant all year, posting multiple 20-plus-point games and filling up every column on the stat sheet. He's a savvy, aggressive point guard who gets to his spots on the floor. He can facilitate, defend 94 feet, and explode off the ground. Everything you want in a player, Wilks has.

He won a big matchup over another Gatorade Player of the Year candidate, and he did it in impressive fashion. In mid-January, he and the Millwood Falcons made the drive to Tulsa to take on the Booker T. Washington Hornets. This game was the most anticipated matchup of the season, as two of the best guards in the state were set to go head-to-head. The highly anticipated showdown between Wilks and Joc Mitchell lived up to the hype, and Wilks came out on top, pouring in 21 points and leading all scorers in a 15-point victory over the defending 5A state champions.

Wilks has proven to be a vocal leader for the Falcons and has played a huge role in their successful season, as they sit at 21–2 heading into the playoffs. If Wilks can win back-to-back state championships this year, it could propel him to Gatorade Player of the Year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140800' first='Tyson' last='Pogi'] could easily be Gatorade Player of the Year. His stats this season have been insane. The Sabercat has had multiple 30 point outings, along with an impressive 47 point game.

Pogi is averaging 27.7 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 4.1 APG. He is shooting 50.6% from the field and 41.5% from deep. He is also Southmoore's all-time leading scorer, sitting at 1,500-plus points, and he's on pace to reach 2,000 points in 6A basketball. A rare feat

Tyson is a very efficient scorer who plays the game at his own pace. He never gets rattled, makes tough shots, and is still able to get his teammates involved. His statistics and the impact he has on the game speak volumes and show why he is a top candidate for Gatorade Player of the Year.

OSU commit [player_tooltip player_id='1552319' first='Jalen' last='Montonati'] has been one of the most promising talents in Oklahoma. He has already won the Gatorade Player of the Year award, twice. And has made State the past three years and is a favorite to win again.

Coming back off injury, Jalen recently erupted for 56 points while knocking down 15 three-pointers in the process. He followed that performance with a 40 point outing against a tough Tulsa East Central team.

Jalen checks all the boxes when looking at Gatorade Player of the Year candidates. The Ram has produced all four years and won at the highest level at a young age. He also plays differently than a lot of players around the state, showcasing a smooth triple-threat game and pro-level shotmaking ability. The way he scores looks like something you see at the next level.

Jalen is a talent to watch as the season wraps up and a strong contender to win this award again.

David Douglass will be a name to mention in this GPOY conversation. He has been putting up some crazy stats this season and has been consistent while doing so. The sophomore already holds offers from Arizona State, ORU, and UT Arlington.

Douglass is a crafty guard who possesses elite speed. To add to that, he plays with poise and under control, giving him the ability to change pace at any time. He is a natural scorer who can score from anywhere on the floor. He is physical and plays fearless on both sides of the ball.

Douglass' numbers prove why he deserves to be in the conversation for Gatorade Player of the Year.

Coming off a state championship his sophomore year, Joc has kept his foot on the gas. He has been performing all year, dominating in the Thanksgiving Hoopfest in Texas and carrying that momentum over into in-state play.

Joc is one of the most athletic players in the state. If you watch any of his film, you'll see he plays above the rim and uses his athleticism to score with ease. He is another player in this conversation who has made an impact since day one. He has been active for Booker T since his freshman year and has been productive all three years of his high school career.

If Joc wins back to back state championships, it will make his case for GPOY even stronger.
