As the high school season nears it's end in New England, we thought we'd give attention to some of the top uncommitted seniors from across the region.

Today, we'll begin with a look at Maine and New Hampshire, and five prospects that could help a college team right away next winter.

Maiwen, a guard out of Edward Little in Maine, turned himself into one of the most dynamic three level scorers in the state over the last year. Maiwen ended the regular season averaging 22.6 points per game, good for 2nd in all of Class A. The 6'2" guard is a twitchy athlete that has a quick first step as a driver and the ability to finish above the rim in space. He's taken his game to another level by developing his perimeter jumper into a consistent weapon. Defensively, he's an elite defender on the perimeter, where he can be disruptive in passing lanes and keep opponents out of the paint on the ball. He could make a difference at the Division III level, but also appears to be a prospect that could benefit from a post-grad year.

MacDonald, a guard out of York in Maine, spent the winter proving to be one of the state's most skilled scorers. MacDonald ended the season averaging 20.0 points per game, making him one of the top scorers in all of Class B. The 6'2" guard has good positional size, can operate with or without the ball in his hands, and has the ability to defend at a high level off the ball. He does a nice job of defending within the scheme of a team defense and is consistently in the right spot in rotations. On the other end of the floor, he plays with good pace with the ball in his hands, knocks down shots at a high clip off the ball, and finishes with touch over size in the paint. He ability to consistently make the right play should make him an attractive recruit at the Division III level.

O'Connell, a guard out of Bedford in New Hampshire, is one of the top perimeter scorers in the entire state and a threat to go off for 20+ points any time he takes the floor. O'Connell currently ranks 4th in Division I in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game through 17 games. The 6'0" guard does a great job of moving without the basketball, elevates nicely into his jump shot, and has in the gym range. He's capable of attacking closeouts off the bounce, is a willing ball mover in the half-court, and does a great job of running to open spots in transition. His ability to make shots should help him to contribute at the Division III level next year.

Stanley, a guard out of Keene in New Hampshire, has developed into one of the best two-way guards in the entire state this winter. Stanley currently ranks 7th in Division I in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game through 16 games. The 6'2" guard is a terrific perimeter defender that has a college ready frame and the ability to guard up and down a position. With his quickness, instincts, and toughness, he's one of the top stocks (steals + blocks) producers in the region. Offensively, he's developed his off the bounce game to become a threat to consistently score at the rim with either hand. He does a great job of getting out and scoring in transition, crashes the offensive glass, and has the ability to finish above the rim with his athleticism. He's the type of prospect that should only continue to get better at the next level and while he should be a priority for Division III programs, he could benefit from choosing to do a post-grad year.

Hickman, a guard out of Souhegan in New Hampshire, is one of the state's top three level scorers, capable of getting it done in the half-court and in transition. Hickman currently ranks 4th in Division II in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game through 17 games. The 6'2" guard has done a nice job of developing his frame, which has allowed him to play through contact both as a driver and as a finisher around the rim. He can hit shots with consistentcy in catch and shoot situations, does a nice job of crashing the offensive glass, and moves well without the ball. On the other end, he can guard any perimeter position and is a willing rebounder from the guard spot. The versatility of his game should make him a good fit for a Division III program next year.
