We all know who fills up the box score each time out. The leading scorers, the names that jump off the stat sheet. But winning basketball is built on more than scoring. It's built on the guys who do the dirty work, set the tone, and keep the team steady when things get chaotic. The engines for their team. The pairs that impact winning in ways numbers can't explain. Here are the top glue guy duos in the Continental League.

There was a bit of a health scare for [player_tooltip player_id='1577197' first='Luke' last='Williams'], but he's returned to form and is back to dominating and being one of the valuable pieces for Chaparral. Luke is a gifted big man who has dominated the paint. He's one of the most efficient players in the state and is a glass cleaner who understands where to operate from. Luke has chemistry with every player on the floor and looks very comfortable in the new year. He's running the floor, dunking in traffic, and showcasing his footwork. He's also getting back to being a force on the glass and giving his team extra scoring opportunities. He's a player who's starring in his role and allows Chaparral to look like one of the favorites.

Musandu might not be a focal point of the team in every single outing, but he is an important part of the team, and it goes to show the depth that Chaparral has. In the last few games, Musandu has gotten he opportunity to get some extended minutes, and the forward played with intensity that couldn't be matched. He's had a big rebounding game and also finished with 8 points. He was efficient, got to the FT line, and took advantage of his opportunity. He's an enforcer and a team-first kind of player who stands out when the opportunity comes.

Mountain Vista has one of the best bigs in the entire state, so naturally, a ton of the attention goes his way. But what they also have is a front-court duo that makes it extremely difficult on opposing teams, and they're feeding off of one another to look like a team that could make a deep playoff run. Nichols is a player who gets overlooked, but if you look at his impact, he's been very productive. He's averaging 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds a game. He's working the high-low, moving on the block, and finishing down low. He's keeping plays alive, rebounding with effort and resetting the plays. Ian can also defend bigs and stronger players, and that is a weapon. He's a constant and glue guy for the team.

Partlow has been a spark for the team all year and has shown glimpses of what separates him. He wears many hats for Mountain Vista, and the thing is, he competes. Partlow is a guard who can take on primary ball-handling duties and is a confident playmaker as well. He runs the floor, keeps his head on as swivel as a pass-first guy, and finds the open man. Teammates work harder when they know they'll be rewarded, and he passes guys into open baskets. Partlow is an important piece to the team and has them playing well, and will have to lock in even more if they plan to continue progressing. He's a glue guy for the team and is on our radar.

Cooper is on a mission right now, and his play to start the new year, specifically in league play. When he's playing well, it shows Rock Canyon's ceiling. When he's dealing, there aren't many teams in the state that can beat them. He's a true floor general and glue guy that can also step out and look like the team's go-to guy. He competes on both ends, finishes in transition, gets into the teeth of the defense, and rides the momentum he causes. He is a floor raiser for teammates, and that is flue guy material as a catalyst. Ellwood has also improved as a scorer, and that opens things up for Rock Canyon. He's a player to keep an eye on

May is a 6'2 guard/wing who is having his best season. He's also the team's wild card, and that has opposing teams trying to figure him out. He stretches the floor at times, finishes in traffic, rotates the ball, and cuts and moves without the ball. He offers versatility and battles in games. He checks off plenty of boxes, and that is what makes him one of the top X-factors in the conference. He's a top glue guy type of player who can help them bring home a state championship.
