We all know who fills up the box score each time out. The leading scorers, the names that jump off the stat sheet. But winning basketball is built on more than scoring. It's built on the guys who do the dirty work, set the tone, and keep the team steady when things get chaotic. The engines for their team. The pairs that impact winning in ways numbers can't explain.
[player_tooltip player_id='2689623' first='Ben' last='Swanson'] brings size, energy, and production as a 6'4 senior wing/forward who continues to impact winning. He's averaging 9 points and 8.8 rebounds this year, and he's been a double-double threat whose work on the glass fuels runs. He protects the paint, blocks shots, runs the floor, and finishes strong. His rebounding and defensive presence have turned into momentum plays and helped swing games in their favor. He's a player who can help keep the season alive for them and is a player to watch.

Green Mountain is living up to expectations and finds itself back to being one of the top teams in the state. They have solid guard play and one of the top scorers in the entire conference that has them looking like contenders, but it's the little things that count, and that is where Corbin steps in. He has excellent size and is a bruiser. He's 6'5 and uses his strength. He sets screens and rolls; he is the enforcer on the team and is nimble for his size. Corbin is also the team's best rebounder at 8.0 rebounds a game, and that has surely been on display lately. He's a player who could determine how far he goes, and he becomes one of the most important players in the conference.

Titus Schrengost is one of the most poised lead guards in the state and the engine that keeps everything steady for Standley Lake, and he's a bit underrated with what he's been. He's been a consistent presence throughout his career, and this season he's averaging 10.8 points while ranking among conference assist leaders at 6.1 per game. Defensively, he's a menace with 3.8 steals, which is among the top in the conference. He's a true glue guy who organizes, defends, and holds the group together during big moments, and there will be many more of those moments. He deserves some love.

Locke is a player who we haven't written about before, but looking at how he's been playing this season, he's been one of the most improved players in the entire conference. He's averaging 11.7 points a game as an inside presence; he has soft touch around the rim and finishes well around the basket. Locke has also improved as a rebounder, and that work on the block has him as a catalyst for the team. As of late, he's been aggressive inside, which has gotten him to the FT line; he's finishing as the role man and runs the baseline for finishes. He's also been stepping up defensively, and it makes him a solid front-court option. He's a 6'4 prospect with upside, and we've seen that on display.

[player_tooltip player_id='1622326' first='Sam' last='Schillie'] is one of those under-the-radar glue guys who make everything connect for Golden, and that has been on display this season. He's an inside presence who feeds off others, he does the little things that keep possessions alive, and he's putting up 9.1 points, 2.9 assists and 3.6 rebounds a game. He's stepping up defensively and embracing his role. He's not loud, but his impact shows up every night and keeps them balanced, and that is why he's so useful. Golden has looked their best as of late, and he has as well.

Freshman wing [player_tooltip player_id='2888641' first='Luke' last='Miller'] has made the most of every opportunity and continues to grow into his role. The game is slowing down for him, especially in league play, and you can see the confidence building. He does the small things beyond the scoreboard, competing on both ends. The scoring has picked up lately, and he's proving he's up to speed and ready to be a key piece moving forward. We're excited to see what he's made of, we hope to see more of him, and we now have him on our radar.
