He battles on the boards, is a solid playmaker, and it's no surprise that he was an All-Conference type of player with the type of season that he had. They'll look towards the stock-rising sophomore to continue with his play and being a competitor that brings it on both ends of the floor as he's the team's X-factor who could help them hoist another trophy.     Sanford comes in as a contender because they're a very balanced group who plays hard and the right way. Gartrell is their most consistent player. He plays with a ton of energy, brings it on both ends of the floor, and understands what is needed from him on any given night. He's averaging 12.5 points and 5.4 rebounds a game, he steps out and defends the opposing team's best player, and he doesn't shy away from contact as well. His tenacity is contagious, and that is why he's the team's emotional leader on the floor. This will be a game where his team will have to step up and not shy away from the moment. Sanford has only one loss on the season; they've bounced back from there and have been playing their best ball. They'll need it, and it's Gartrell that I feel leads the way.     Limón has turned some heads and surprised teams as they're now in the Great 8 and are looking to go after another upset when they face off against Sanford. Limon's best player has been Mellott, and he's not a player whose stats just jump off the screen, but his stature is massive, and he shows up each game. This 6'4 paintbeast has been stepping up defensively as he makes you think twice about going inside, he cannot be backed down, and he's a man amongst boys on the glass. He's the team's enforcer, but he's also able to score on the block, has a back-to-the-basket game, and has soft touch despite being such a wrecking ball down there. I expect him to be a game-changer in this game in hopes of keeping the season alive. Big game for him.
