Williamson had a red-hot month of January. The junior recently broke a school record with nine 3-pointers made in a game against John Marshall. Williamson is not just a long-range shooter, at 6'4”, he uses his length to elevate in mid-range situations, as well as providing his team with energy on the defensive end of the floor. His timing allows him to block shots and guard multiple positions. The Comets have won nine games in a row.

Guard

The junior had one of the best performances of the season, pouring in 42 points recently against Casady. Howell is not only extremely talented, but he also reads defenses well. Against Casady, he had the entire arsenal working for him offensively. Howell not only shot it well from deep, but also drove past defender's time and time again, producing exciting finishes at the rim. To complement this, his off-ball movement was tremendous. Howell continually saw overly aggressive defenders well, cutting back door on multiple occasions for easy baskets. Howell also produced a 41-point performance the day prior in the Washington Tournament against Tecumseh.

Guard

The sophomore most recently produced a double-double in a 25-point win at Lawton Eisenhower. Wilborn had 11 assists, navigating the defense well with his exceptional handles. The highlight was a one-handed off the glass pass to Marquell Robinson who threw it down. When it came to scoring, the guard hit three triples, one of which was from almost 23 feet. Accompanying his shooting, Wilborn finished well in the paint. He showed his touch with a one-legged floater over a strong contest from an opposing defender. Scyon finished with 22 points in total.

Brody Branscum

Skiatook

Guard/ Forward

Branscum erupted for 25 points in a win over Miami this past week. The freshman is a fundamentally sound player on the offensive side of the floor. He plays off two feet and utilizes his pivot foot well. Skiatook can use him in a multitude of ways to help initiate offense. Branscum can post up smaller defenders and operates well from the high post. In the game against Miami, he was able to score from all three levels. Branscum takes his time and reads the defense before attacking. His creativity was on full display, producing reverse layups to go with some strong step through and euro step moves. Look for Brody to continue to develop as an outside shooter to complement his ability to finish around the rim.

US Grant

Guard

While his team suffered a 13-point loss to a very talented Southmoore club, Hankins stuffed the stat sheet. The junior finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Hankins does a lot of things effortlessly with the ball in his hands. In the matchup with the SaberCats, he looked very good in catch-and-shoot situations to go along with some strong drives in which he handled the ball well in traffic. His ability to hit the offensive glass was very impressive as well. His effort and determination showed up on three different occasions, as he kept plays alive before eventually finishing the possession off with a bucket inside. Hankins routinely scans the floor for the open man and found teammates behind the defense with some creative one hand passes.
