The Indiana High School Basketball season is wrapping up on Saturday with the 116th Annual IHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament getting under starting Tuesday, March 3rd. From start the finish, it has been non stop action every night of the season in Southwest Indiana with teams that were expected to win big throughout the season, some teams that struggled more than expected, as well as teams that jumped in the rankings as surprise teams. Here is Volume 3 of the Southwest Indiana Power Rankings:

Honorable Mention: Evansville Harrison (11-10), Evansville Mater Dei (13-8), Evansville Reitz (10-9), Loogootee (14-8), Wood Memorial (15-7)

10. Bloomfield Cardinals (15-8)

One of the top teams in 1A South has had an intriguing season. The Cardinals haven't had a win streak on the season longer than three games, but have really good wins over Loogootee and split games with a talented Sullivan team. Game in and game out they will have the best player on the floor in 6'6” Senior W [player_tooltip player_id='1560962' first='Blake' last='Neill'] averaging 28.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

Next Game: Sectionals vs North Central-Farmersburg (3-4-2026)

9. Jasper Wildcats (13-8)

After a three-game skid, the Wildcats have battled back to win three of their last four in games over Evansville Mater Dei, Castle, and Evansville Harrison to help them clinch second place in the SIAC. Junior Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2882765' first='Jaylen' last='Maners'] and Sophomore Guard Riley Foy have led the Wildcats as one of the better inside-out duos in the area.

Next Game: Sectionals vs Gibson Southern (3-3-2026)

8. Linton Miners (20-4)

The Miners are as hot as any team on the list winning thirteen of their last 14 games led by the Senior Duo of 6'2” G [player_tooltip player_id='1560986' first='Conner' last='Daily'], a super confident sharp shooting guard that can fill it up in a hurry, and 6'4” F [player_tooltip player_id='1560992' first='Paul' last='Oliver'], a four year starter that is a Swiss Army knife on the floor with his ability to do everything on the floor.

Next Game: 2A Sectional 47 vs Eastern Green (3-3-2026)

7. Barr-Reeve Vikings (21-1)

Prep Hoops Indiana's #2 ranked 1A team has been rolling all season long coming into the final week at 20-1. The lone loss coming back on January 6th to Brownstown Central, the Vikings, led by the backcourt of Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3045017' first='Kierson' last='Lengacher'] and Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3148411' first='Jaylon' last='Graber'], have rattled off 12 straight wins over the likes of Loogootee, Wood Memorial, North Daviess, Jasper, and Bloomfield.

Next Game: Sectionals vs Loogootee (3-4-2026)

6. Evansville Bosse (14-8)

It's been an up and down season for the Dawgs. A tough schedule along with players in and out of the lineup has resulted in some head scratching losses. Despite the eight losses, when Coach Shane Burkhart has his Bosse Bulldogs clicking, they are arguably the most talented team in the area behind two dynamic senior guards in [player_tooltip player_id='1760994' first='Dorion' last='Bowen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2172596' first='Marrius' last='Harris'].

Next Game: Sectionals vs Evansville Central (3-3-2026)

5. Heritage Hills Patriots (17-6)

The Patriots have had a good first season under first year Head Coach Josh Wetzel. Have been ranked in the Top 10 in every volume of the power rankings and have ended the season winning three of their last four games including a nice win on the road at Jasper. When the Patriots are rolling offensively, they are tough to stop led by University of Saint Francis Commit [player_tooltip player_id='1560951' first='Jake' last='Prior'].

Next Game: Sectionals vs TBD (3-6-2026)

4. Gibson Southern Titans (18-5)

The Titans finish the regular season winning six of their last seven and a share of the PAC Championship with Boonville. Have been ranked in the Top 5 of every volume of the power rankings. Big time wins on the season, while having one of the best junior duos in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='2891750' first='Reece' last='Runyan'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2140411' first='Kolton' last='Schmitt']. It's easy to see why Gibson Southern has been highly rated the entire season with consistent big time wins including the Toyota Classic Championship, Charlestown, and Evansville Bosse.

Next Game: Sectionals vs Jasper (3-3-2026)

3. Boonville Pioneers (19-4)

Essentially everyone that has been put in front of the Boonville Pioneers this season, they have handled. They have countless wins over this ranked field led by their junior trio of [player_tooltip player_id='2140326' first='Bradyn' last='Egli'], [player_tooltip player_id='2140389' first='Jaxon' last='McKain'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2622245' first='Cash' last='Willis']. The Pioneers finished with their best regular season since their 2009-2010 Sectional Championship team while also winning a share of the PAC Championship with Gibson Southern.

Next Game: Sectionals vs Mount Vernon (Posey) (3-3-2026)

2. Evansville North Huskies (18-5)

Senior Wing [player_tooltip player_id='1561076' first='Bryson' last='Chapman'] has had a fantastic year leading the Huskies to their best season since the 2021-2022 season while averaging 17.5 points and 6 rebounds per game. Evansville North has three separate winning streaks on the year of 4+ games with only losing to one team on this list (Evansville Bosse 2x) and no bad losses on the season.

Next Game: Sectionals vs Castle (3-6-2026)

1. Princeton Tigers (20-3)*

The last couple of weeks have been drama filled for the Princeton Tigers as the IHSAA found that Princeton must vacate 15-wins on the season for playing an ineligible player due to an administrative error. These power rankings are purely based off of on court results and the Tigers have been the most dominant team in the area and have been playing like it riding an 11-game win streak behind the play of 6'7” Indiana All-Star Candidate [player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'] averaging 15.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game.

Next Game: Sectionals vs TBD (3-6-2026)
