Freshman known for his silky shooting touch from three. Came alive in the second half from deep with a pair of threes, which were crucial in swinging the tide in Casady's favor. Also went an impressive 8-9 from the line on the way to 16 points. Importantly he's not just a shooter. Is one of the primary ball handlers for the Cyclones. Handed out multiple assists in the contest, including a good feed leading to a teammate's dunk. Good showing with room to grow. In a year or two some of the drives he was fouled on should become "And 1" opportunities.

With an average of 17.9 points for the season, Carter is the leading scorer for the Patriots. Quality shooter from distance, plays direct and confident on drives to the rim. Has good lift as a finisher, and plays with a good toughness for his skinnier frame. Uses euro steps and other good footwork to navigate his way to the rim. Was productive in the Regionals win and has proven himself as one of the better scorers in the 405 this season.

Wheeler is a gifted athlete, who at times appears to glide and float. Good body control and great hangtime on drives to the rim. Can switch hands mid air to score tough finishes. Plays with his head up in transition. The best example of this came when he high pointed a defensive board, pushed the tempo and pitched a crosscourt pass to a teammate for a corner three. Wheeler has been overlooked and that's a mistake. Should be a priority target for regional JuCO programs, as he's a shifty guard with burst, who makes things happen.

Pogi didn't have to get out of cruise control in the Sabercart's opening playoff win. Made an early effort to get teammates involved. Would attack on the bounce, then stop and whp out big time passes to open teammates. Liked seeing the trust he displayd in empowering them early. Scoring wise picked out some spots to break out his advance scoring moves. Including a 25 footer in the second quarter. A mini flurry in the third quarter. It was a good controlled showing, proving how good he is. The challenge only ramps up going forward. With these next few months being pivotal for Pogi with the playoffs and this spring with national level AAU play.

Williams was consistent throughout and made the winning plays in the second overtime. It started with a putback to open the frame. Then a few possessions later it with it still a two point game, he pump fake a three, took a dribble and drained a 18 footer with ease. In the final minute, he grabbed a contested rebound. He proceeded to calmly drain a pair of free throws that would effectively ice the game for Mount Saint Mary. It was a physical contest and Williams rose to the occasion throughout. His willingness to rebound and mix it up around the rim was huge in anchoring the Rockets' regional championship. It also showed the growth in winning basketball that the talented wing has made over the last few months.

Buckingham is only a few weeks removed from surgery and early on it looked there was some rust from his time off. In the second half he was the one who led the comeback charge. Closed the third with a flurry and made similar plays to start the fourth. Finally got a three to fall late in the third. While mixing in hard nosed, tough scoring around the rim. Even force a big five second count during the fourth quarter. He missed a couple good looks in overtime, which is sure to spur the tough guard to bounce back next week in the Area consolation bracket.
