Game Recap:

Heading into the weekend, Friday's nightcap looked like it was going to be one of the best and most entertaining games of the weekend. And for the first three quarters, it played out exactly that way. It was a very even first eight minutes, with [player_tooltip player_id='2469364' first='Hunter' last='Collins'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2279025' first='Kais' last='Parris'] each getting going with some early jumpers. Heathwood Hall led by three after the opening period, but there were some warning signs of their struggles on the defensive glass. The Highlanders' best moments came when [player_tooltip player_id='3529557' first='Keon' last='McKinley'] was on the floor, as he was their most efficient producer while also making plays defensively. After struggling for stretches in the second quarter, Pinewood Prep ended the first half on a 7-0 run thanks to a series of buckets from [player_tooltip player_id='1692411' first='Tripp' last='Eidson']. They picked up where they left off in the third quarter, but the biggest difference was the emergence of [player_tooltip player_id='2674162' first='Tre' last='Green']. After struggling in the first half with only 6 points, Green exploded with 18 second-half points with constant, aggressive, downhill driving to the rim. [player_tooltip player_id='2267854' first='Deuce' last='Claxton'] often answered with big shots for Hethwood Hall, but Eidson and Parris hit back-to-back threes to put Pinewood Prep up eight, and the Panthers never looked back as they continued to win the glass, the turnover battle, and the foul situation en route to their first State Championship since 2010.
