On the other side of Tripp in Friday’s 4A championship is Xander. He has been a key figure for the Highlanders all season long, often stepping up for them in big moments, and he will need to do just that tonight in Sumter. Pertile is a big factor around the rim because of his size, finishing, and effort on the glass. He is also an excellent student off the court and holds a college football offer. Xander is putting up 8.2 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game so far this season, which embodies exactly what he is when he’s on the hardwood.

. I’ve seen Xander a couple of times with Heathwood Hall, but this performance with
Upward Stars Columbia
is the best I have seen from him. Pertile looked fundamentally sound in the post and used his big frame well. Most of his offensive production came with his back to the basket, but Xanxer was also extremely active on the offensive glass, battled through contact, and protected the rim on the defensive end.
