DJ was one of the most dominant interior presences at the Freshman Showcase. His combination of size, strength, and fluidity makes him a very difficult matchup for young bigs, but when he got a guard switched onto him, it was over. Scott did show some more skill than I’ve seen from him in previous instances, such as an improved handle to create things off the dribble and push the pace after defensive rebounds.

From a physical standpoint, DJ is one of the more intriguing players in the 2030 class. Listed at 6’3″, he has good size, and his big frame allows him to play even taller in the paint. But, just because he is big and young, don’t mistake that for a lack of polish. Scott had a nice hop-step finish, ran the floor well in transition, and impressed with some passing as he racked up 6 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks against First Baptist on Friday.
