Any time you move on to a new squad, especially for your senior year, there will be some changes. But as the season has progressed, [player_tooltip player_id='2245263' first='Syrius' last='Owens'] has gotten that done. After transferring in from Roosevelt, the lanky 6-foot-6 forward has seemingly found his lane with Clackamas at this point in the season and he's hopeful it leads to a long post-season run, one that will help out with his college recruitment.

"It's been an adjustment coming from a different program, but I feel like we're figuring it out," Owens said. "We just have to work on the defensive end and just build a stronger chemistry and I feel like we'll be good."

On the year, Owens - along with junior guards [player_tooltip player_id='2026062' first='RJ' last='Barhoum'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2684850' first='Max' last='Martinov'] - has been one of the double digit scorers for the Cavs. He's a top rebounder too and in a recent win over Gresham, posted a rare 20-point, 20-rebound game (22 points, 20 rebounds to be exact) and he's well aware that's exactly what Clackamas needs out of him.

"I mean a lot to the team giving rebounding and just a lot of energy helping my team," Owens said.

With his size, length, athleticism, and upside there's no question that college programs have shown interest. No offers yet, but Owens is hopeful that comes and until that does he's staying wide open in his recruitment.

"I've been getting interest from some D-IIs - Western Oregon has been hitting me up a lot giving me a lot of interest," Owens said. "I just want to get that next level. Wherever I and get better wherever I can to get the best and get the best opportunity, I'll be happy."

For now the goal remains on being in the win column with Clackamas - and from what he believes, the sky is the limit.

"Hopefully we just keep building, stacking wins going into March," Owens said. "Hopefully we can get to Chiles Center making a run."

Owens currently ranks as the #9 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2026 rankings.
