Here's a closer look at some of the top frontcourt prospects in the area's 2026 class.    The Florida State commit has established himself as a dominant presence in the paint for Gillion Academy, anchoring the interior on both ends of the floor. Ponder brings good strength and physicality to the lane, consistently carving out space and finishing with authority around the rim. He moves well for his size, runs the floor effectively in transition, and plays through contact, making him a reliable interior scoring option.   Defensively, he is a force in the paint, using his frame and mobility to contest shots, control the glass, and protect the rim. A Denison commit, Apergis brings size and polish to the frontcourt as a skilled interior presence. He is a fundamentally sound big who understands how to establish position and score on the block, showing the ability to finish over either shoulder with touch and footwork. While more of an average athlete, he compensates with feel, timing, and an understanding of angles.   Apergis is also a capable open shot maker who can step out and knock down midrange or perimeter looks when defenses sag. He plays with a good feel for the game, making smart decisions, moving the ball willingly, and understanding spacing within the offense. His combination of size, skill, and basketball IQ should allow him to transition smoothly to the college level.
