We recently updated our 2029 class rankings, and in my 10 years of working for Prep Hoops VA this one is looking like it could be very special. With 75 players ranked currently, we take a look at part three of the prospects in the Northern VA area.

#56) [player_tooltip player_id='3539437' first='Jonathan' last='Paschal'] | 6'7” PF | Potomac School

Paschal is a young project big man with a lot of intriguing qualities and good upside moving forward, as he's shown flashes of production and development in his short high school career so far. At 6'7” he already has good size and a strong frame that could still be growing, he uses his strength to rebound and be physical in the paint defensively, he has good touch around the rim and can step out to the midrange area, and he moves well already and will get more fluid as he grows into his body.

#59) [player_tooltip player_id='3669303' first='Brandyn' last='Edmonds'] | 6'0” PG | Episcopal

Edmonds transfers to Episcopal and reclassifies from Broad Run to join his brother Ben who is a star senior guard there, and the younger brother brings his own set of tools that will make him a great addition to an already strong backcourt. The 6'0” lead guard oozes toughness as he sacrifices his body and wins 50-50 balls more than he doesn't, he moves his feet very well defensively and hounds ball handlers, he is quick and shifty with the ability to get in the lane and make plays for others, and he picks his spots and scores it efficiently as well.

#61) [player_tooltip player_id='2564305' first='Malachi' last='Hawkins'] | 5'6” PG | John Champe

Hawkins was impressive his freshman year at Champe, and while he isn't the biggest guy on the floor he already makes a huge impact on both ends with a growth spurt surely coming. He's lightning quick with a great first step and end-to-end speed that makes him a nightmare in transition, he gets under ball handlers and can guard the length of the floor, he sees the floor well and gets his teammates easy buckets, and he is a natural leader that teammates can follow.

#64) [player_tooltip player_id='3669306' first='Corey' last='Brandon'] | 6'0” PG | Potomac School

Brandon transferred to Potomac School and reclassified to the 2029 class, and he's shown a lot of improvement and is set to have a big sophomore season after a great summer for them. While he isn't the biggest he's a natural bucket getter who can create space off the bounce and score the ball from all three levels, he gets downhill and can finish around the rim over bigger defenders, he can make plays for others when he gets it going, and he's strong and quick laterally on the defensive end too.

#65) [player_tooltip player_id='3669307' first='Adam' last='Richmond'] | 6'5” PF | St. Stephen's St. Agnes

Richmond is the rare three-sport star who also plays football and baseball at SSSAS, and while he is still behind some upperclassmen he shows a lot of intriguing tools moving forward. He already has good size with the ability to play in the post or on the perimeter, he is a natural athlete who thrives in transition with his ability to run and finish, he's a Swiss-army knife defensively, and if he chooses basketball his skills should polish over the next few years.

#67) [player_tooltip player_id='3539440' first='Morgan' last='Nwosu'] | 6'7” C | Forest Park

Nwosu is a player to track for sure over the next few seasons at Forest Park who has a history of impressive big men prospects, and he's got a lot of tools that are intriguing as he continues to develop. He has great size already and is likely still growing into his body, he moves well with the ability to run the floor and move his feet defensively, he has good touch around the rim on catch and finishes, and he is a good rebounder and rim protector as well.

#70) [player_tooltip player_id='3539471' first='Connor' last='Reeves'] | 6'0” SG | George Marshall

Reeves may not quite be there and is sitting behind some very talented upperclassmen for a Marshall team that won the District last year, but he finds his way onto the court with his ability to make an impact without being the go-to guy. He can space the floor and knock it down from deep off the catch, he brings great energy defensively with his ability to guard the ball and shoot passing lanes, he plays with a great motor on both ends, and he's already a good athlete who is likely still growing as well.
