Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The Mount St. Mary’s commit, Brzezanski has put together an impressive senior season, showcasing a well-rounded and evolving skill set. A skilled, versatile, lean forward, he brings inside-out ability that makes him a matchup problem. He can stretch the floor with his three-point shooting, attack closeouts off the bounce, and finish effectively around the rim.
An above-average vertical athlete, he elevates well in traffic and runs the floor with purpose. For his size, he handles the ball comfortably, adding another layer to his offensive versatility. As he continues to add strength and physical development, he will be better equipped to handle the physical demands of the college game. With his combination of skill, length, and athleticism, he projects as an intriguing forward with upside at the next level.

put on a show for Broad Run. Ryan is more of a stretch 5 right now, but he projects to be much more of a wing with his frame and skill set at the next level. Ryan showed a complete offensive bag against South County. He was lights out shooting the three, and he used his size well in the paint consistently finishing over shorter defenders. Earlier in Ryan’s career, he didn’t play through contact well, but now it’s something he excels at. He moves well at 6’8, and it’s a real matchup nightmare for other bigs at this level. Ryan was great defensively, too, altering or blocking a number of shots. He had a 40 ball in an almost flawless performance.

was highly productive for Broad Run in his first season there after transferring from Briar Woods. Ryan is a tough matchup for opposing bigs with his ability to step out and knock down threes. When bigs try and run him off he does a great job putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim. He can post up smaller defenders and he does a good job protecting the paint. Ryan was the district player of the year and a first-team all-state selection in class 4.

was a huge factor against Woodgrove. Ryan was matched up with Woodgrove’s big Dane Marsh for most of this game. Dane is a strong player in the paint with good size, so Ryan took him out of the paint a lot and drove to the rim with success. Ryan knocked down multiple threes and punished mismatches inside when he got them.

‘s move to Broad Run was tabbed as one of the more impactful transfers in NOVA, and so far that proved true. I felt that watching Ryan at Briar and in other places, his skill set was limited when you stuck him in the post a lot. When Ryan is facing up against bigs and driving, there are very few players that can stay with him while also being his size. Ryan has a nice jump shot as well. Ryan was terrific Vs Riverside, even in a loss.

At my other forward spot, I have Ryan Brzenzanksi. Ryan had an excellent year for Briar Woods and can play as a big or a wing. I love what Ryan does out of the post, and he has shown the ability to step out and knock down threes. Ryan rebounds the ball well, and when he gets a little stronger, he will be tough to stop. He led Briar in scoring at 14 a game and hauled in 9.3 RPG. He was named first-team all-region.

wasn’t a factor in Tuesday’s game against Rock Ridge. Rock Ridge was physical with him and forced him into many turnovers. On Thursday, Ryan bounced back massively against a great Woodgrove team, which impressed me. Even though Briar lost by 20, Ryan had a phenomenal night. Ryan wasn’t hesitant and didn’t let himself get bullied. He was efficient and decisive and finished with 26 points on 65% shooting from the field. Ryan has a lot of skill with his shooting ability and an excellent post-game. To rebound against a good team after such a good game was something that caught my eye.
