Both of these teams have really moved the ball well the first 6-7 minutes of the game. Lake City is in man to man, Goodhue is in zone, neither defense has done much to stop either team. Goodhue has started 8 of 12 from the field while the Tigers started 7 of 11 from the floor.

Lake City has moved the ball and hit four early threes which seems to have pulled Goodhue from their zone. I feel like since they came out of the zone, Goodhue has been able to keep a body on Lorenson better. Lorenson and Hegge did a great job moving the ball against the zone.

I like the job that Goodhue senior Garrett Boldt has done on Lorenson keeping the outstanding junior in front and forcing some empty possessions. Lorenson has missed his last three attempts and has a turnover since Goodhue came out of the zone. [player_tooltip player_id='2825741' first='Michael' last='Roschen'] with good help defense in spots as well on Lorenson. I believe the nasty spin move score from [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] capped off an 8-0 run (Lorenson quick transition score ended it).

Watching this from the high mid court camera feed I don't have the best angle but it sure seemed like there were some soft whistles on attempts BUT that is okay if you call them consistently and this crew certainly has been consistent through the first half.

Goodhue led 45-41 at the half.

We have seen Loos, [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] and Boldt now rotating as the main defender on Lorenson defending him. Always a fresh guy chasing Lorenson.

Goodhue has more weapons and you knew at some point it would wear on Lake City as they just don't have the same level of horses to keep up The [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] spin into a three and the [player_tooltip player_id='2396393' first='Cody' last='Ryan'] make at the start of half tough built the lead to double digits.

We have seen the lead expand to 75-58 for Goodhue as the Lake City defense is just stretched too thin trying contain Loos and especially [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] in the second half. With that defense stretched too far, [player_tooltip player_id='2396393' first='Cody' last='Ryan'] has had a lot more space to work and score in half two.

With under three minutes to go the Tigers are on fire from the arc with threes coming from [player_tooltip player_id='2381754' first='Luke' last='Narum'] (again), Jackson Richardson off the bench and [player_tooltip player_id='3269944' first='Luke' last='Fleming']. Three score game after it was a 17 or 18 point game. Now [player_tooltip player_id='3191499' first='Colter' last='Hegge'] has hit two second half threes and its a two score game.

Goodhue got two late stops to win 90-83 helped by the 10 of 13 foul shooting of [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] who hit several late

Player Prospect Notes

[player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] of Goodhue. Luke is a tough, smart heady player but tonight I saw things from him that really opened my eyes to how much juice has game has as well. The spin move score on the attack was an eye opener and his rhythm attempts off of quick separation moves also opened the eye. The second half spin off the screen into a step-back three man was certainly a new make that I have seen from few players before. But more importantly, Roschen has some special creation gifts, but he can make all the simple plays with consistency too.... 33p/7r (10-19fg, 10-13ft)

[player_tooltip player_id='2394170' first='Alex' last='Loos'] of Goodhue. Alex, a sophomore, just moves differently on the floor. He looks like a really athletic football prospect would just bigger, stronger, and more agile running with smaller bodies around him. His strides just fly by other players but he is also quite skilled too with a very clean jumpers that was made with two threes quickly. Alex just didn't just continue to make threes, he sunk them to keep Goodhue ahead and he did so with one of the purer strokes you will see in the sophomore class. This is a shooter that I think has a chance to not just be a scholarship kid, but a scholarship player that schools will be fighting over at a higher level than people think.....A27p/6rb (9-18fg, 5 3s)

Garrett Boldt of Goodhue. After seeing Garrett defend Lorenson I like Goodhue even more. Boldt doesn't have to slow a guy like Lorenson, he just needs to make him uncomfortable as often as possible. He just needs to make Lorenson work even harder for his offensive production, and Boldt did that. He kept his frame in front of Lorenson consistently and this allowed the offensive production from Roschen and Loos to be done with more energy as they have a teammate to spend a lot of time defending the other team's best player.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381754' first='Luke' last='Narum'] of Lake City. The six foot guard was a big reason the Tigers were able to stay with the favorite Goodue. Narum hit three first half triples and he did it with range. Luke forced the defense to step to him which cleared space for his teammates to work. And those early first half scores allowed his team to stay in the game.... 19pts (6-9fg, 5 3s)

[player_tooltip player_id='2126464' first='Gavyn' last='Lorenson'] of Lake City. Gavin is listed at 6'4 which means he will be listed at 6'5 in AAU and on his college bio. He is a very skilled player for that height with length often playing point guard and initial creator in addition to being the main offensive weapon. You can tell there is a fire to him and a battle within each possession that makes me like him as a prospect even more. Also has another gear than you would expect hitting some angles and extending through with that length to touch in finishes. A shot creator at his size and length that can play multiple spots, this is a kid who should be a top NSIC target and a player that five years ago is likely fielding D1 calls already with interest. I think Gavyn has top 10-12 type potential in his class......24p/4r/4a (8-18fg, 8-10ft)

[player_tooltip player_id='3191499' first='Colter' last='Hegge'] of Lake City. This is the type of player I really like in high school basketball: 6'3, hard working, skilled, smart, plays his role. Hegge took single digits shots to get his 16 points plus he led his team in rebounds (10) and assists (6) and Colter was one of the players doing his best to try and contain the several Goodhue options......24p/4r/4a (8-18fg, 8-10ft)
