The 2026 South Carolina Independent School Association Basketball State Championships are set to begin tonight and continue tomorrow at the Sumter County Civic Center in Sumter, South Carolina. Although it may not receive some of the publicity as its SCHSL counterpart, SCISA is arguably just as competitive and certainly just as important when it gets this late into the season. Check out these five available prospects to watch at the 2026 SCISA Boys Basketball Championships.

Not only is [player_tooltip player_id='1692411' first='Tripp' last='Eidson'] one of the most improved players in SCISA, but he has firmly set himself as a next-level big prospect. Tripp's box-score numbers are quite impressive: 10.1 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, 1.5 steals per game, and 3.1 blocks per game. Eidson has taken big strides on the offensive end of the floor this season, turning into a strong finisher and a capable threat from 12-15 feet. The Panthers will match up with Heathwood Hall on Friday, and they will need him to be efficient with his touches and defend without fouling in order to walk away as State Champions.

On the other side of Tripp in Friday's 4A championship is Xander. He has been a key figure for the Highlanders all season long, often stepping up for them in big moments, and he will need to do just that tonight in Sumter. Pertile is a big factor around the rim because of his size, finishing, and effort on the glass. He is also an excellent student off the court and holds a college football offer. Xander is putting up 8.2 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game so far this season, which embodies exactly what he is when he's on the hardwood.

From a statewide perspective, Lake might fit the description of an underrated prospect, but everyone in SCISA knows just how good he is and how important he is to the Warriors' success. He will rotate between playing on and off the ball depending on the situation and matchup because of how smart he is. Wagner has a great feel for being in the right spot, staying shot ready, and attacking quickly. When he plays the one, he has some decent size to attack smaller guards, and is particularly effective against man-to-man matchups. If Spartanburg Christian is to come away Champions of SCISA Class 3A, it is likely to have been a big game from their star player, [player_tooltip player_id='3528157' first='Lake' last='Wagner'].

Unfortunately, I was never able to see Charleston Collegiate during the regular season, so I'm glad they reached the State Championship game so I could have one last check in with a talented senior class. Reed is the first one on that list; an athletic, 6'5" wing who does a little bit of everything to impact winning. Thomas is putting up 19.1 points per game, 8.0 rebounds per game, 1.5 steals per game, and 2.0 blocks per game this season, showing just how important he is to the Sun Devils when he is on the floor. Charleston Collegiate has been hot over the past few weeks, but they have a tough matchup against region foe Cathedral Academy for the championship on Saturday afternoon.

Rounding out the list of Five Available Prospects to Watch at the SCISA Championships is [player_tooltip player_id='2693904' first='Kavontay' last='Rose']. Ragin Prep is the defending 1A State Champions, but the progression of Rose is a big reason why they are even better this year than they were last year. He is putting up over 16 points per game this season, solidifying himself as one of the most dominant offensive players in the class. There aren't many teams at the level who have the size to match up with Kavontay, so as long as he stays on the floor, he is a massive difference maker, and the Rams are a clear favorite.
