Staying at a smaller, more off-the-radar school, Lake had an excellent senior season at SCISA 3A Spartanburg Christian Academy. He helped lead the Warriors to a 20-win season and an appearance in the State Championship Game. Wagner was one of their most consistent presences on the offensive end of the floor, but his role varied by matchup. Lake can play on or off the ball because of his spot-up shooting ability, comfort driving closeouts, vision to set up teammates, and skill in finishing in the paint.

From a statewide perspective, Lake might fit the description of an underrated prospect, but everyone in SCISA knows just how good he is and how important he is to the Warriors’ success. He will rotate between playing on and off the ball depending on the situation and matchup because of how smart he is. Wagner has a great feel for being in the right spot, staying shot ready, and attacking quickly. When he plays the one, he has some decent size to attack smaller guards, and is particularly effective against man-to-man matchups.
