Davenport Central: The Blue Devils and Clinton split their regular season series, with Central winning 74-46 on January 20, and the River Kings taking the regular season finale, 52-50. The tandem of [player_tooltip player_id='2420796' first='Cole' last='Shannon'] and Marshall Johnson had 35 points in that win, and both are capable of doing so again.

Des Moines East: The Scarlets beat Waterloo East, 62-50, back on January 16, but the Trojans have been playing better lately. With six players averaging between 6.8 and 11.6 points per game, they have a number of different scorers who can beat players off the dribble and get to the bucket. They can spread you out and attack, attack, attack.

Iowa City West: Valley is just 1-19, but the Tigers have played the most difficult schedule in 4A and recently beat Cedar Rapids Washington by 18, showing that the bottom of the CIML is far superior to the bottom of the MVC. Is it superior to the middle of the MVC as well? There's a chance. Junior wing Jayden Adaway and guard [player_tooltip player_id='2272195' first='Keane' last='Jorgensen'] will need to be great if the Tigers are going to double their win total, but they won't be intimidated going to West.

Marshalltown: City High senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2731768' first='Christopher' last='Watkins'] (16.2, 9.8 rebounds) will be the best player on the floor, and that gives the Little Hawks a good chance. A good athlete at 6-6, he has the size, length, and athleticism to dominate the Bobcats and carry City to a win.

Mason City: In [player_tooltip player_id='2420800' first='Zion' last='Cook-Berns'] (12.7), Pernell Grover (12.3), Oliver Beckman (12.0, 8.1 rebounds), and [player_tooltip player_id='2125122' first='Derrick' last='Akines'] Jr (9.6), Waterloo West has a number of scorers who can control the game. Grover, a 42% 3-point shooter as a freshman, could be the X-factor in this one.

Indianola: Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2118611' first='Jerimiah' last='Washpun'] (21.9) for Liberty will be the best player on the floor. He's having a remarkably efficient season, shooting 51-46-64, and is capable of dropping 35+ on any given night, which will give the Lightning a chance to go down to Indianola and pull off the upset.
