We take a look at seven under the radar players from the Richmond area for college coaches and scouts to make a priority this summer on the grassroots circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470573' first='Cam' last='Claiborne'] | 5'10” PG | 2027

Claiborne is worth a look for coaches are looking for a well rounded winning guards who can help run a team and make winning plays on both ends of the floor. While he's not the biggest guy he's highly skilled with the ability to break down defenders and get in the paint where he's a good finisher and makes good reads, he's a knock down shooter both off the catch and from deep, and he's a high IQ defender with good instincts as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815342' first='Larry' last='Walker'] | 6'1” PG | 2027

Walker shares the backcourt with Claiborne at Petersburg, and they are a good tandem who compliment each other well, and should break out in different ways this summer on the AAU circuit. The 6'1” Walker is a dynamic guard with great end-to-end speed and a lightning quick first step, he can stop on a time and use change of direction to create space and get into his shot, and he has big time upside on both ends of the floor.

Won Evans | 6'2” CG | 2027

Evans is having a breakout junior season for a very good Varina team, and as he continues to get better and better he'll have a chance to introduce himself to some college coaches this summer too. The 6'2” combo has good length and is a good athlete who can run the floor and push it in transition, he can knock down shots from deep off the catch, he makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, and he takes pride on the defensive end both on the ball and as a help side defender.

Bodi Curley | 6'7” PF | 2027

Curley is having a big year for James River, as he's been one of the more dominant big men in the area and coaches will love his mix of athleticism and high motor that he brings to the table. The 6'7” big man is an explosive finisher who tries to dunk everything when he's in the range, he is a good rebounder on both ends and particularly the offensive end, he finishes well through contact, and he's a good rim protector who is switchable as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2370724' first='Keaton' last='Gregory'] | 6'9” C | 2027

Gregory has continually improved since he was a starter as a freshman for TES, and the way he's improved should be something coaches take into consideration when they watch him this summer. He has shown his ability to use his length to challenge shots defensively and has improved finishing through contact around the rim, he has developed into a good shooter and can stretch the floor with good consistency from deep, he is very vocal defensively as he talks and directs traffic as a back line defender, and he's a great teammate and leader who players look up to.

Dillion Murphy | 6'4” SF | 2028

Murphy is an intriguing young prospect with his blend of size and perimeter skillset, and as he's continued to improve he's someone for coaches to get on early this summer. At 6'4” he has long arms and is likely still growing, he moves well off the ball and can set his feet on the move to get into his shot, he's a knock down shooter from deep off the catch, and he's developing into a player who can create for himself and others too.

Harry Hazelgrove | 6'2” SG | 2028

Hazelgrove has shown a lot of improvement from last year to this year, as he's someone coaches should get an early eye on as he continues to grow and improve. He's a big time shooter that works well off the ball and has a quick release to get his shot off, he has great range and consistent form, and he continues to improve in his ability to create off the bounce.
