Just like that, the final month of the regular season in high school basketball is here and man, what a season it has been. We have seen many players across the state breakout, multiple great games, and still even have a few unbeaten teams remaining. With the final month about to start and Sectionals just right around the corner, I thought it would be a good time to take a look at under-the-radar players to watch this final month. Here are five players from the 2027 class.

When it comes to the under-the-radar players that are listed here, the guy that could possibly make the biggest leap of them all is Batesville guard [player_tooltip player_id='2141019' first='James' last='Hughes']. For the Bulldogs this season, Hughes has been extremely productive averaging a near double-double of 17.8 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting an impressive 51% from the field. The 6'4" guard/wing has good positional size, but can also really shoot it from beyond the arc. Small colleges out there should really keep an eye on him starting in February and into his senior season.

The Barr-Reeve Vikings are one of the top teams in all of Class 1A and a big part of that has been the play of [player_tooltip player_id='3045017' first='Kierson' last='Lengacher']. The junior shooting guard has been of their top scoring options averaging 12.5 points while also adding 2.7 assists per game. Lengacher is a guy that impacts the game on both ends of the floor playing with a high IQ and some underrated craftiness on the ball. If Barr-Reeves makes a deep state tournament run, that should bring some more eyes onto Lengacher.

After coming off a an injury, Trinity Lutheran guard [player_tooltip player_id='2123812' first='Hudson' last='Lang'] has exploded in his junior year being one of the highest scoring players in all of the southern Indiana area. Averaging 18.5 points per game, Lang is a under-the-radar playmaker that has proven himself as a big time scorer, especially as a knockdown shooter. is combination of shooting ability and downhill passing make it very difficult for opposing defenses. Could see him making a big jump over the next year.

While it may seem unfair to put a guy that plays a big part for a team that is a favorite to win a state championship on here, it seems like the best is yet to come for junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2470698' first='Brody' last='McLaughlin']. He is only averaging around 4.5 points per game, but his impact for the Silver Creek Dragons is much bigger than the amount of points he contributes. McLaughlin is a versatile mismatch of a player on both ends of the floor and often times is Silver Creek's best rebounder. He is a guy to watch in February and beyond.

While Bishop Chatard overall has had a rough season up to this point, they have one of the more intriguing prospects in junior big man [player_tooltip player_id='2831756' first='Zach' last='McCormack']. At a long 6'10", McCormack is a versatile big man with intriguing physical tools and skill. He is averaging over 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game up to this point while also being impactful on the defensive end. A big man to keep an eye one this last month of the season.
