Three Up

Holy Angels (6-4). We had good expectations for the Stars and while they started with a stumble, they have won three in a row to get two games over. 500. In addition to three in a row, the Stars have beaten Blake, Kennedy, Park of Cottage Grove, Brooklyn Center and New Prague winning of five of six! The Stars have four players scoring in double figures led by the 17 points a game from [player_tooltip player_id='2120498' first='Blake' last='Nixon'], 15 a game from [player_tooltip player_id='2417240' first='Jake' last='Winston'], 12 a game from [player_tooltip player_id='2843124' first='Izaak' last='DePoint'], and ten a game from [player_tooltip player_id='2140555' first='Arjun' last='Jain'].

Northfield (9-1). The Raiders have now won nine straight games getting into the top ten. The have section wins over Faribault, Byron and Winona, and they are allowing only 53 points a game which is second best in AAA (behind only Richfield). [player_tooltip player_id='1521424' first='Kayden' last='Oakland'] is continuing an All State level season averaging 21 points, nine boards and four assists a game shooting nearly 55 percent from the field. Seniors Tyler Hupton and JT Graupmann are in support with 14 and 10 points a game respectively.

Willmar (8-0). One of the drums we have been banging for months is that of Willmar and the Cards are out here undefeated allowing just 56 points a game. They are closing in on being a top five defense in terms of scoring defense in Class AAA. [player_tooltip player_id='2119642' first='Avery' last='Christensen'] is scoring 23 a game and looking like a Class AAA All State player plus junior Hudson Sjoberg has stepped up as a second option putting up a dozen points a contest.

Three Down

Minneapolis South (4-4). We praised South and now we have to speak to the other side as they have lost their last three games, and four of their last five. The losses are to hot teams though: Johnson, Washburn, Hiawatha, and Rosemount. That said the Tigers have the players to likely have won one or maybe two of those games. [player_tooltip player_id='2435232' first='Jumair' last='Wright'] is averaging 24 points a game for South as a sophomore plus [player_tooltip player_id='2409303' first='Ramadan' last='Ibrahim'] is scoring 16 points a night.

St. Anthony Village (3-6). The interesting thing here is that St. Anthony has a couple pretty good wins too beating Fridley and Southwest but the losses to Kennedy and Armstrong hurt. That said, the score from last night just game in as the Huskies beat Brookyln Center last night. Isaan Kitila is scoring 19 points a game leading the team.

St. Cloud Apollo (5-3). We praised Apollo strongly, and now that they have lost three in a row we chat again. Apollo has lost three games by double figures to Sartell, Alexandria, and Princeton but they can get back on track with a number of winnable games coming up before the rivalry game with Tech. Not having [player_tooltip player_id='2569233' first='De'Anthony' last='Sells'] the last couple games is a big part of this as he is averaging 23.5 points and 8.7 rebounds a game.
