Rochester Mayo (12-3). The [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last=''] have now won four in a row despite dealing with a handful of injuries. The four in a row isn't just random lower level Big Nine teams, they have defeated Hastings, Mankato East, Faribault and Owatonna. Mayo has always had the balance but the injury to Reggie Park after only four games was a setback. They are playing better basketball now and junior [player_tooltip player_id='2133222' first='Elliot' last='Myszkowski'] has stepped up big leading the team in scoring at nearly 16 points a game on a balanced team. Elliot recently had 27 points in the big win over East.

Prior Lake (8-4). The Lakers have bounced back from early losses to stand at the top of the South Suburban with a seven game winning streak. The Laker defense has recently stepped up as Apple Valley, Chan and Lakeville South were all held under 50 points recently and Shako had just 54. [player_tooltip player_id='2433515' first='Kolby' last='Thompson'] is scoring 15 a game (a team high) led by 19 against Apple Valley and 30 against Burnsville.

Spring Lake Park (9-3). The Panthers went from splitting their first six to a six game winning streak which has them thinking section title contention. A quality list of wins that includes Fargo Davies, Andover, Princeton, and Columbia Heights. [player_tooltip player_id='1560865' first='Nolan' last='Myren'] has exploded lately boosting his season average to nearly 29 points per game. Nolan just had 40 against Rogers and 37 in the win over Andover.

Three Down

Minnetonka (5-6). The Skippers have gone young and it's led to some up and down spots including a four game losing streak. Tonka is scoring 56 points a game which is in the top four lowest in Class AAAA. They only allow 61 points a game though so teams are struggling to produce against their pace at times. And they just beat STMA (score is not updated at MN Scores) plus in those losses, Tonka competed with Chaska, Maple Grove and Edina before losing. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2853260' first='Beckham' last='Nelson'] has really stepped up lately scoring 11 against Edina and Chaks and putting up 20 in the STMA win. [player_tooltip player_id='2121339' first='Anthony' last='Ortiz'] is scoring 22 a game.

Apple Valley (5-5). A three game losing streak and not only are the Eagles out of the top ten, they now have an average record while falling in the South Suburban standings. In their defense, the schedule has stepped up but a top ten team wins some of these games but the Eagles lost to Prior Lake, Lakeville South and Farmington. Eagles are getting 20-22 a game from Young and Parker but after that it's two or three baskets a game from their support.

Osseo (8-4). The Orioles were an 8-1 ranked team with some big wins and now they have lost three games in a row and need to right the ship. Champlain Park was struggling and got back on track against Osseo and Anoka had been struggling and beat Osseo by 22.
