Oklahoma's Class A features a strong group of teams, as well as productive individual players. Looking at the Top 5 teams across the state, this list will give you an inside look at top players, as well as overall team summaries from the first half of the season so far.

#5 Cyril (11-1)

The Pirates only have one loss this season. The interesting piece to that is that they defeated that same team earlier in the season. Splitting with Southwest Covenant (who we have in our Top 10), shows just how evenly matched much of the top teams are in Class A. Cyril has scored well throughout the year, averaging over 74 points per game. The pace of play and depth of scoring make this team dangerous as we inch closer to the postseason.

Top Performers

[player_tooltip player_id='2779035' first='Nash' last='Harman'] | Guard

Harman is the unquestioned leader on both ends of the floor for the Pirates. His speed and athleticism are constantly on display as he forces a lot of turnovers into fast break points. Harman is also a threat from long range, showcasing good elevation in his jump shot. The senior is at his best in transition as he routinely finds teammates ahead of the defense for easy buckets. His playmaking is second to none on this list, as the Pirates are best when the ball is in his hands.

Kellan Biffle | Guard

The senior pairs well with Harman in the backcourt. Biffle has been the recipient of many great full court passes from Harman and shows an ability to consistently convert those opportunities. He can also shoot the ball well from the perimeter. Biffle is comfortable shooting both off the dribble and off the catch.

#4 Caddo (13-1)

Caddo has only one loss this season, coming in overtime to Rattan. The Bruins have won four in a row, including an impressive 30-point victory over Colbert (2A). Caddo features a very strong defense that is able to limit opponent opportunities. Defensive rebounding paired with great effort and activity give this team a high overall ceiling. The Bruins have a realistic chance to win their next six games, heading into a tough matchup with Carl Albert (5A).

Top Performers

Dallas Williams | Guard

Williams is a tremendous athlete that is just starting to scratch the surface of what he is capable of. The sophomore has been shooting the ball better from beyond the arc to compliment his ability in the open floor. The depth and balance of this team, helps to keep the opposition on their proverbial heels nightly. Williams highlights the group of contributors around Brister and Willingham, giving the team an added boost of activity on both ends of the floor.

Kale Brister | Guard

Brister shows tremendous anticipation on the defensive end. The Bruins utilize the senior in full court pressures to create steals and play the ball aggressively. Brister is a terrific shooter that also benefits from the high-energy defensive attack. Pressuring opponents in the back court allows him to both produce steals and benefit from loose balls the get out in transition. His teammates look for him often off the bounce as they will look to attract defenders to help in the paint to free up the sharp-shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='3191999' first='Beck' last='Willingham'] | Guard

Willingham has a smooth game with the ball in his hands. He can put it on the deck and attack the paint as well as anyone we have seen this year. His ability to play at different speeds keeps defense's guessing consistently. Willingham is also very crafty when navigating through defenders, often collapsing the defense and setting up open teammates. Cason Robinson and Jet Rose are two players that benefit from this each night. Both compliment the rest of the guards with an ability to shoot from outside. The depth of this squad is something that can lead them deep into the postseason.

The sophomore can both size-up defenders to eventually shoot over the top from the perimeter, as well as work off the ball and catch and shoot from deep. Look for him to continue to lead this team with his pace of play and creativity. His athleticism and effort are always on display as he seemingly finds new ways to contribute on the offensive end each night.

#3 Riverfield (16-0)

The Ravens hold multiple wins against both Class 2A and 3A teams. The most impressive performance for Riverfield so far, is a 5-point over Summit Christian (2A), 54-49. This team continues to find new ways to win games which should help them in postseason play. Most recently, they have seen an uptick in scoring. The Ravens have averaged just under 65 points per contest in their last three.

Top Performers

[player_tooltip player_id='3230981' first='Scott' last='Thompson'] | Guard

The junior is the heart and soul of this club. Thompson is a relentless defender that can time his jump well, blocking shots at a high rate for a guard. With his team often switching defensive assignments, Thompson routinely matches up with post players and works hard to front them in the post. His active hands and feet produce steals and deflections for his team. He does a little bit of everything on the offensive end, showing good height on his jump shot to pair with solid control with the ball in his hands. Thompson can get to the goal and finish, while also finding teammates when the defenses chooses to collapse.

Max Harper | Guard

Max is another strong shooter from outside the arc for his team. The senior works well in the backcourt with Thompson, handling the ball and showing very good court vision. Harper is at his best in transition, finishing well on both sides of the rim. He shows outstanding body control as well, reacting to defenders and adjusting in the air. Look for both of these guards to continue to lead the Ravens as they try to stay perfect to finish out the regular season.

#2 Okay (14-1)

Okay is a battle-tested team that is currently on a three game winning streak. The only loss of the season for this club is a 13-point loss to a strong Eufaula team (Class 3A). The Mustangs have one of the strongest resumes in Class A so far this season, with a 9-1 record against teams in larger classifications. This team moves the ball well and can produce a lot of points offensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2223704' first='Chase' last='Clark'] | Guard

Clark belongs in the conversation as one of the top players in the state in Class A. The Mustangs rely on him to both handle the ball and score at a high rate. He will operate off screens on the offensive end, while also running the floor in transition. Not only can the senior shoot off the dribble, but he is also an elite athlete that can finish at the rim with ease.

On the defensive end, Clark uses great instincts to jump passing lanes and disrupt timing for the opposition. His quick hands force countless turnovers, in which he he is usually able to take the other way in a hurry. Clark communicates effectively and makes the game easier for his teammates on both ends. At 6'2", he uses his length and athleticism to see over the defense and setup teammates with open shots. The ability of Clark to see things before they develop are a big reason why he can help lead his team to a deep run towards a state title.

Trapper Walker | Forward

The senior is an outstanding shooter from outside the arc. Walker also runs the wing in transition with tremendous effort. Clark looks to pitch the ball ahead to him routinely, producing a ton of fast break looks. Trapper plays under control and shows the ability to play off two feet, letting defenders fly by for easy finishes. If Walker can continue to hit open shots when Clark collapses the defense, it will make it much more difficult for teams to key in on Clark defensively. One thing that separates this team from many of the other is the class, is the ability to turn people over and beat defenses back down the floor.

#1 Okarche (15-3)

Okarche is the favorite to win Class A yet again this season. The Warriors three losses are to all Class 5A and 6A powers from across the state (East Central, Owasso, Southmoore). Okarche has one of the top players in the state leading the way each night, in [player_tooltip player_id='1552358' first='Jett' last='Mueggenborg']. He leads the attack for a team that has scored less than 80 points just twice this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552358' first='Jett' last='Mueggenborg'] | Guard

The senior can score in bunches and has separated himself as arguably the best scorer in the state. Mueggenborg poured in an impressive 49 points against Southmoore in the Tournament of Champions to close out December and looks to continue to dominate opponents with his ability to score in a multitude of ways. He can get to the rim, shoot from 3-point land and get to the free throw line. Mueggenborg is one of the craftiest players we have ever seen at the prep ranks in Oklahoma. He has an ability to create fouls and keep the defense off balance. Look for him to continue his high level of play throughout the second half of the season as he looks to lead the Warriors to yet another state title.

Easton Roby | Guard

Okarche has a number of contributors that can help support Jett on a nightly basis. The depth and scoring punch that so many provide help to lend support when defenses focus attention on the senior. With that being said, the other player we want to mention is Roby. The senior scored 28 points against East Central, showing that he has all the tools to help lead the way. Roby is an aggressive player that can also hit shots from beyond the arc. With a strong body and good shooting stroke, look for him to continue to find consistency night in and night out. When both Roby and Mueggenborg are playing at their heights, this team is one of the best in the state at all levels.
