Kyler’s Wednesday Night Player Takeaways

One of the games we got a chance to see this week was the matchup of the Crispus Attucks Tigers going on the road to face the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles. The stars headlining this game are Attucks's [player_tooltip player_id='1560945' first='DeZhon' last='Hall'] and Guerin's [player_tooltip player_id='2140383' first='Jake' last='Grissom'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2137375' first='Carter' last='Murans']. Since returning to the state, Hall has put up some big time performances for Attucks and during Wednesday night's game vs Guerin Catholic, it was the same thing. Hall sued his athleticism and bounce to make plays off the dribble while also hitting some DEEP outside shots, as well. He set the tone almost right away with some tough buckets in some very tight angles. A very high IQ player, Grissom plays so physical in the lane while also being a guy that can knock it down from deep. For starters, there may be very few guards in his class in the state that have as better or more effective first step off the dribble. Thomas has a great mix of smoothness and burst on the ball as you will find in his class. While he is likely to be more of a wing/hybrid forward long-term, Murans played a lot of post for the Golden Eagles and was extremely effective around the basket. With his length, he is one of the more fluid players his size in the state being about to make tough buckets against contact. Even though he has a thinner frame, he plays with such a tough, high motor. He is one of the few players that has the ball in his hands the most for GC being the guy that often times initiates the offense. He is real solid being an aggressive attacker and loves to compete on the defensive end. The glue for this Geurin Catholic team in so many ways. There probably was not a guy that played his role as the secondary scorer in this game than Hill being that content threat behind the arc. A smooth shooter, Hill also stepped up big time in the second half with some smooth, controlled drives that took some pressure off of guy like [player_tooltip player_id='1560945' first='DeZhon' last='Hall']. A sneaky scorer in so many ways.
