Re-Ranking the Class 1A Sectional Champions

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Throughout the season, every Monday, we released our official Prep Hoops Indiana Class-by-Class Top 10 Polls. We will still put out a final poll after the season is over, but in the meantime let's re-rank the teams that are still alive. There are 16 Class 1A Sectional champions that are still alive. Therefore, the rest of our top five simply shifted up and we slotted Marquette Catholic in at fifth. We could see the Triton versus Marquette Catholic matchup going either way, but we gave Triton the nod for now.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Monroe Central versus Southwood matchup at Lapel High School will be a good one as well. Both teams have had excellent seasons, but haven't necessarily been tested in the same way that some of the teams ranked ahead of them have been.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was hard to know exactly how to round out the poll in the last couple of spots. Simply on the eye test and what we know about the players we went with Rossville and West Washington. Northeast Dubois probably has the best case for being included over one of them, but we ultimately gave the nod to those two programs based on their overall body of work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Interestingly, we are guaranteed to have at least one "unranked" Regional champion has Fort Wayne Canterbury takes on Tri-County at Huntington North High School.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Greenwood Christian, North Vermillion, and South Decatur are the other teams we have not mentioned yet to round out the 16 Class 1A Sectional champions. We look forward to following all of these teams on Saturday during Regional play and throughout the rest of the IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
