On January 1st-3rd I was at many games around the state watching the Hoophall West at Skyline HS and the NIKE Tournament of Champions at multiple locations in the East Valley.

Here were the Top CG's

[player_tooltip player_id='2276223' first='Kingston' last='Montague'] Basha (Pictured)

A high level scoring combo guard is one of the top in the West Coast at putting the ball in the hole. He will score it all ways with downhill takes in the lane, threes with deep range and he has an unguardable mid-range pull-up he often uses to fill it up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150824' first='Kaden' last='House'] AZ Compass Prep

One of the top prep teams is led by Kaden. He is a fierce competitor and scores it with threes, nasty dunks down the lane, tear drops and sudden high level mid-range jumpers. He bothers his opponents on defense picking their pockets and rebounds the ball well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2758274' first='Mateen' last='Cleaves Jr'] Dream City Christian

A strong framed combo guard has a college like frame and the son of a former NBA PG has a next level feel to make his teammates better. He has a super advanced pull-up from mid-range he often uses and will score it with offensive rebound put backs and tough and-1 takes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1546987' first='Adan' last='Diggs'] Millennium

One of the top guards went thru stretches making it look easy. He scores it with off the glass jumpers, downhill takes with either hand, mid-range fall aways, works at the high post and goes to work. He goes slow to fast to the rim and will make plays with drive and kicks and dimes up the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2297438' first='Oliver' last='Burbach'] Brophy Prep

A fluid combo guard who plays on or off the ball. He moves the ball like you should and will make plays for his teammates. He will score it with deep three and score with floaters and runners. He should break out even more next season when Sharper graduates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2291974' first='Nick' last='Reber'] Highland

One of the strongest guards in the junior class can score it from all three levels. He will hit the perimeter jumper, post up on a defender, get downhill with either hand using the next level frame and earn trips to the free throw line. He can make plays plus defend his position.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386978' first='Jaydon' last='Hayes'] Willow Canyon

Another combo guard may be the strongest in the sophomore class. He will slither in the lane with his stronger frame and score it or get fouled. He will shoot it with mid-range jumpers and threes and he rebounds well with his athleticism and strength. He shows you glimpses of his improving bounce as he glides in the air.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595670' first='Ikenna' last='Alozie'] Dream City Christian

A hyper athletic guard plays the lead role often for his team and will pour points in. He will shoot it with threes off the catch or pull and he has an advanced layup package using his long arms and quick twitch bounce. He will throw some bail out passes to his teammates in stride.
