What players did the best job cleaning the glass in their holiday tournaments? During a nine day period I covered games from Jacobs, Elgin, Wheeling, Hinsdale Central, Jack Tosh, Collinsville, Pekin, Duster-Thomas, and Pontiac. Here were the best rebounders we saw!

Christian Kennedy (Rockford Boylan – 2026)

Kennedy is an undersized post/thick bodied wing that was super active on both the offensive and defensive glass in their round 1 game.

Jayden Smith (Grant – 2026)

Smith was a force on the glass with his bounce and activity level. Like the quickness he shows getting to the offensive boards for second chance points. He had 10 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2403165' first='Quinton' last='Frakes'] (Stevenson – 2027)

Frakes was a gritty rebounder that lived on the offensive glass for Stevenson. The majority of his 10 points in the game we saw came off put backs as he had 11 rebounds in their win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323618' first='Alex' last='Sirbu'] (Buffalo Grove – 2027)

Dominant performance on the glass from Sirbu against a good St. Viator squad as the 6'9” center reeled in 15 rebounds. Got after it on both ends while also scoring 22 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2834463' first='Amari' last='Williams'] (Shepard – 2028)

Williams is one of the best 2028 posts in the state. Didn't have a huge scoring game in the contest we caught, but was still very impactful with what he did on the glass grabbing rebounds in traffic with his strong hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2823585' first='Tony' last='Balanganayi'] (Palatine – 2026)

The big fella from Palatine gobbled up rebounds on both ends of the floor with his positioning and how quick he is on his feet for his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532003' first='Joey' last='Jakstys'] (Yorkville – 2028)

It wasn't a huge scoring game for the top 10 sophomore in their opening game at Tosh, but he was extremely active on the glass recording 11 rebounds with half of them coming on the offensive end. Lot of upside with this bouncy forward!

[player_tooltip player_id='2423510' first='Carter' last='Clark'] (Wheaton St. Francis – 2026)

Senior 6'6” post emerged in their loss to Conant for what he did on the glass. Nice area rebounder that had 7 points and 11 rebounds showing he could play at the small college level.

Jackson Rennick (York – 2026)

Rennick was only credited with five rebounds, but he could have very well had double that as this undersized forward has a nose for the ball and plays with tenacity!

[player_tooltip player_id='2404186' first='Matt' last='Welch'] (Glenbard North – 2026)

Welch is a PHI favorite for how well he fits into a team and does whatever is needed. Well in their second round win they needed him to get on the glass which he did to the tune of 16 rebounds including a ton on the offensive end.

Brennan Shannon (Lake Park – 2028)

The sophomore big man owned the glass against Morton as the reeled in 11 rebounds. One to watch going forward!

[player_tooltip player_id='2991000' first='Mayango' last='Jallah'] (Springfield – 2027)

The undersized post was a monster on the glass in the first round. Wide bodied big man mauled on the interior recording 10 points and 11 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105376' first='Colin' last='Stack'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2323620' first='Ed' last='Stasys'] (Benet – 2026 and 2027)

We can't not mention the Benet twin towers who are absolute monsters on the glass. Individually two of the best pure glass cleaners in the state, but together it is unstoppable.
