The state of Missouri was well represented with top performers on Saturday at the Highland Shootout! Here we look at the 2027 prospects that shined at the event!

[player_tooltip player_id='2334901' first='Chase' last='Branham'] ([player_tooltip player_id='2873530' first='Logan' last=''] Rogersville – 2027)

Branham is an Indiana commit and in my first time seeing him he is a really good get for the Hoosiers. Skilled combo guard with length who can play effectively both on and off the ball. We had heard a lot about the long ball with him, but he was only 1-7 from deep in this game. What makes him a high-major guard though is even when that wasn't falling he still impacted the game in a major way. It was effortless handles getting where he wanted to the rack for scores in the paint. Sweeping layups and excellent body control maneuvering his body to score at the rim along with trips to the line. Plays with nice pace and feel as a passer making it look easy off live dribbles passing the rock. Also defensively he was very good taking steals and turning them into buckets on the other end. Has some athletic pop which will continue to get even better once he is stronger. He had 31 points (12-21 FG), 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334898' first='Jimmy' last='McKinney Jr.'] (Vashon – 2027)

McKinney is the top prospect on Vashon as he is among the better juniors in the state of Missouri. Combo guard who plays both on and off the ball. Struggled a bit in this one finishing at the rim, but still had a floater and a couple nice slashes. Shot it pretty well from deep going 3-7 from beyond the arc. Flashed defensively including a nice block against Davis on a short jumper. Like what he brought as a passer finding his guys, but needs to limit the turnovers. In this game he had 18 points (7-15 FG), 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 turnovers, 2 blocks, and 1 steal.

Leon [player_tooltip player_id='2873209' first='Powell' last=''] (Vashon – 2027)

[player_tooltip player_id='2873209' first='Powell' last=''] is a lanky combo forward that plays with a high-motor and athleticism. Can handle it better than we previously seen, quick second jump, runs the floor for dunks, and finished out of the dunker spot. He had 10 points (5-11 FG) and 7 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334910' first='Sekou' last='Cisse'] (Principia – 2027)

Cisse was a star in their win over East St. Louis as he went to work down low! The five man has a strong frame and base. Sealed for finishes inside, got on the offensive glass for put backs, spin moves, and was very good as a rebounder. Protected the rim as a shot blocker and was dominant on the glass. He had 25 points (11-13 FG), 12 rebounds (9 offensively), 2 assists, and 3 blocks. Looked the part of a high-major post.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334905' first='Gassim' last='Toure'] (Principia – 2027)

Strong and athletic wing from Principia is a tough cover going downhill with his explosiveness and nifty finishing game. Multiple sweeping layups and had a nice dunk. Snatches rebounds on both ends and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Stat line read 13 points (6-14 FG), 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2377735' first='Kingston' last='Money'] (Principia – 2027)

Money is a fun player to watch. Plus athlete that has burst off the bounce and loves to get out in the transition game for scores at the bucket. Mid-range game is a strength of his pulling up with elevation as he finished with 13 points (6-11 FG), 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2348237' first='Wyatt' last='Slay'] (Principia – 2027)

Slay might fly a bit under the radar on this squad, but we like how he stuffs the stat sheet. Wing who took it baseline, hit a three, and was a connective passer going for 7 points (3-6 FG), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334870' first='Scottie' last='Adkinson'] (Webster Groves – 2027)

Adkinson is the top 2027 in Missouri. He is a left handed combo guard that is electric to watch play. First thing I noticed was how much stronger he has got since we last saw him adding muscle in his upper body. Early on it was his shot making on display banging in a pair of threes along with getting to the line. Burst with the ball off the bounce and shake. Liked what he brought as an improved distributor in the half court along with handling the full court pressure from Inglewood pretty well. Rebounds very well for his position. Showed a willingness to defend and get into fellow Mizzou commit Crowe giving him some problems and making him work for everything he got. Went for 17 points (4-8 FG) (3-5 3 PT) (6-7 FT), 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2509009' first='Jackson' last='Tabash'] (Webster Groves – 2027)

Tabash became the crowd favorite at the event! He was NBA Jam on FIRE from the corner against Inglewood as the lanky small forward poured them in one after another. At 6'3” with a projectable frame and a lethal shot from three this kid is going to play at the next level. On one shot fake from the corner right in front of me he got kicked in the head by the defender flying at him. It was scary for a moment, but he eventually got up and after some time with the trainer came back in to continue to fire from deep and each time he did the crowd lost its mind! Poured in 26 points on an insane 8-12 from three!

[player_tooltip player_id='2339267' first='Jayden' last='Woods'] (Webster Groves – 2027)

Woods played a big role in this game off the bench for Webster Groves. He is an athletic forward that scored around the cup with floaters, euro steps, and on the offensive glass. Solid rebounder, impactful defender, and connective passer as well. Line was 14 points (6-11 FG), 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, and 4 steals.
