<p>Maine East High School hosted an amazing tournament. There were plenty of great players throughout the week with many deserving of being recognized. These 15 players are all deserving of earning all tournament team honors. This can be because of their consistent play, great performances, leadership, and team success throughout all of their tournament games. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2865852' first='Torey' last='Baskin'] (2026) | G | Hoffman Estates High School</p>

<p>Baskin had an amazing tournament averaging over 20 points throughout and finishing with 26 points in the championship game. Baskin's ability to get to the rim and being able to finish inside is high level. He is quick and shifty with the ball allowing him to split double teams. Baskin is a good ball handler in the PnR, where he can reject screens at a high level. He has a nice shot that allows him to hit shots from beyond the arc too. Baskin is a flat out scorer who helped lead his team to a win in the championship. </p>

<p>Johnson was a consistent scoring threat the entire tournament with games of 16, 23, and 24 points. Johnson plays super well out of the high post, where he can hit tough shots but also attack the rim at a high level. Johnson can finish over defenders and draw contact at the rim. He is a great mid range scorer but can also knock down the three. Defensively, Johnson uses his athleticism and length to get deflections and steals. He can guard multiple positions which makes him a versatile defender. </p>

<p>Brandon Schreiber (2026) | 6'3 G | Maine East High School</p>

<p>Schreiber is a three level scorer who can hit shots from the volleyball line, finishing with 29 points in a game. Schreiber's range from three was super impressive and opened up the floor for himself and his teammates. He has a pure jumpshot allowing him to hit shots efficiently at all levels. Schreiber does a great job of attacking the rim using his size to finish through contact. He has great guard skills with his ability to handle the ball and see the floor. Schreiber's passing ability and vision are high level, where he can make tough passes and find teammates where most players couldn't. </p>

<p>Uros Mitrovic (2026) | 6'5 F/C | Grayslake North High School</p>

<p>Mitrovic was super impressive the entire tournament, doing what was necessary to put his team in a spot to win the game. He has a super impressive handle for his height and can navigate the PnR as a ball handler. Mitrovic has a super smooth jumper that allows him to be efficient from anywhere on the floor. He can play both on and off the ball being a threat from three but also a threat to finish inside. When Mitrovic gets the ball in the post, he has great footwork and patience allowing him to get easy looks at the rim or make good passes out to his teammates. He is a strong rebounder who is a constant double double threat. </p>

<p>Matz had a very impressive tournament showcasing his ability to score the ball at all three levels. Matz has a great handle and stepback that gets him open from three. He has a nice mid range pull up and can finish through contact at the rim. Matz has great vision and was racking up assists throughout the tournament. Defensively, Matz has a knack for steals getting multiple a game leading to easy baskets on the other end.</p>

<p>Smith is a great two way player for Hoffman Estates. Smith's instincts defensively as a sophomore are super impressive. He is constantly blocking shots at the rim and causing tough shots from his opponents. His height, length and rim protecting abilities played a huge part in Hoffman's success in the tournament. Smith is a great rebounder on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he can finish high above the rim and occasionally step out and knock down a shot from beyond the arc. </p>

<p>Hooks is an athletic forward who can finish high at the rim. He is a great two way player who can guard multiple positions. Hooks is quick on the help side and recovering allowing him to block shots at the rim. He uses his height and length to his advantage on both ends of the floor. Hooks is super active on the glass, even flying in for tips and rebounds on the offensive end, getting extra possessions for his team. He has a smooth jumper allowing him to occasionally step out and knock down a three. </p>

<p>Mobley is another scorer for Hoffman Estates. He finished the tournament with multiple games over 10 points. Mobley is an efficient scorer who can really shoot the three. Mobley uses this to his advantage and attacks closeouts and over plays super well. He is a great mover and cutter off the ball, allowing himself to get open for easy looks from three or at the rim. Mobley is a good on ball defender and brings energy on the defensive end. </p>

<p>Greer Jr was scoring the ball at will the entire tournament. He had two games with 25 points and another with 27. Greer Jr is a tough shot maker that can score anywhere on the floor. A good handle allows him to efficiently get to his spots on the court. Greer Jr is a great advantage creator for Argo. Greer Jr has a high release on his shots which allows him to consistently shoot over defenders. </p>

<p>Lazo had a very efficient scoring tournament with games of 15, 21 and multiple games over 10 points. Lazo is a super crafty finisher using euro steps, slow steps and spins to finish with either hand at the rim. He is good at protecting the ball with his handle, even under constant pressure. Lazo's vision was on display on his downhill drives where he would find open cutters and teammates on the three. Lazo does well at creating his own shot and can hit the three at a high clip. </p>

<p>Odhiambo displayed his two way abilities for Vernon Hills in all of their games. He finished with games of 14 and 15 points, showcasing his ability to finish inside. Odhiambo is super athletic and can finish with both hands high above the rim. The 6'5 junior is great as a screener in the PnR. He makes a huge impact for his team defensively. Odhiambo is constantly blocking shots and walling up causing super tough shots around the rim. He is a strong rebounder who is always active on both ends of the floor. </p>

<p>Dozie is a super quick and crafty guard. His great handle allows him to break down defenders and get downhill with ease. Dozie has nice touch on his shots around the rim and in the mid range. He can knock down threes with a quick release that allows him to get the shot off on late contests. Dozie displayed his vision with great passes on his drives when the helpside defense rotated to him. </p>

<p>Oaxaca is a microwave scorer for Maine East. In their first game he had 22 points and finished with 18 another game in the tournament. Oaxaca can get hot fast. He is a great three point shooter who can also finish through contact at the rim. Oaxaca is a great scorer who you have to respect both on and off the ball. He can create his own shot but also hit shots off the catch. </p>

<p>Cooper Casterton (2027) | 5'11 G | Elk Grove High School</p>

<p>Casterton is a crafty scorer who can catch fire from beyond the arc quickly. Casterton finished a win in the tournament with 23 points and 7 assists, showing his talent as a point guard. He has a good handle and was comfortable with aggressive on ball pressure and traps getting sent his way. A strong crossover allows him to get downhill. Casterton showed patience on drives with slow step finishes and the ability to find cutters. </p>

<p>Perkins is a great leader for his team on the court. He is constantly making sure his teammates are focused and is an on court coach for Sandburg. Perkins constantly gets downhill and is great at coming to a one, two stop. This allows him to play controlled and use pumpfakes to get his defender in the air. Perkins can finish through contact and also over the with a nice touch on his floaters. He is a true point guard with a good handle who always brings the ball up the floor. Perkins can even knock down shots from three. <br></p>
