2027 Rankings: 9 New Names

Check out nine of our new additions to the 2027 class rankings. We have three new names from Mode Prep who profile as high-level prospects, one player returning to the state of Washington, and a handful of sneaky good players further down the rankings.    Toms is an explosive guard who can affect the game in virtually every category with his all-around play. A legit deep threat with a pure stroke, he balances his scoring inside and out, as well as demonstrating some excellent vision off his penetration. His athleticism plays on the defensive end too, and he's been a real X-factor for Mode Prep this year.     The Mode Prep post has legit length and size inside to be a high-level rim defender, and he's also shown continued growth operating from the blocks with his footwork and feel. He also has impressive mobility for his size and has shown the ability to defend further out in spurts.     Another new addition from Mode Prep, Cummins is a sneaky athletic guard who can set the tempo and does a great job getting others involved. He's got the quick bursts to be an effective driver, and can knock down the outside shot at a good enough rate, but he's a pass-first guard, and he's been quite impressive with his pinpoint accuracy on passes of all kinds.     Armstrong returns to Washington after a brief stay at Austin Prep Academy in Texas, and now suits up at Rainier Beach. The strong forward was a revelation last season with West Seattle and showed just how impactful he can be with his motor and ability around the paint. He's flashed in spots so far this winter and should continue to be an impactful player for the Vikings up front.     Bonney Lake has been one of the best surprises of the season so far, and Barrett has been a key factor for them at the point, applying pressure on both ends with his quickness and aggressive play. His scoring has been pretty balanced, with a mix of getting to the rim and spotting up from three, but he's also got a solid pull-up that opens up all levels for him to attack. He's been really effective setting the tone for them defensively with his ball pressure too.     The wing is a pretty versatile player, popping up on our radar, who acts as a solid playmaker for Kelso while providing some scoring in various ways. He utilizes off-ball cuts well, can play from high and low posts, and has some skill on the perimeter to get to the paint. He's also just a hard worker, which has resulted in key plays around the floor and some solid defensive impact.     One of the more impactful new additions to the 2027 rankings has been Santos at Grandview. He's stepped into a big role for the Greyhounds on both ends, acting as one of their top scorers, playmakers, and bringing them some size and effectiveness in the paint. He has the skill to play out of different spots, doesn't often try to do too much, and really can stuff the stat sheet with his all-around play.     Robison is a lights-out shooter from 3-point, with the ability to shoot with a quick release, and the focus to bury shots with defenders right on him. He lined up and knocked down 9 threes when I watched him in a win over Prairie earlier this year, and plays off that outside threat with some good play off two in the paint.     Spooner is a solid guard who has picked his spots well for Woodinville this winter, showcasing a pretty reliable outside shot to go along with some nice touch closer in. He plays hard, will work hard to get to loose balls, and has been a key guy on a pretty balanced Falcons squad.
